Most college Scholarships are year to year, so with several conferences cancelling all fall sports what will happen to the kids who rely on this money to attend school ?

I assume their scholarships will be honored (absolute PR shitshow if not) as long as classes will happen.. Whether online or in person

Scholarships are honored. It's contractual. Schools are even honoring scholarships for athletes in sports that are canceled

My question is will they allow teams to have more than 85 scholarships? This is going to create quite a logjam for many teams.

The more interesting question is if they tack on additional eligibility, like they did with baseball. Totally different beast with 85 fully funded scholarships.

This is the real question.

Also related, If they did tack on an extra year of eligibility, you might end up with a lot more graduate transfers.

I really doubt they will do that for FAll and winter sports. It's created a lot of problems for the Spring sports and costs a bunch of $$. There would be a lot of non-power 5 schools that couldn't do it.

"Bo is a sixth year grad transfer. He redshirted in 2019. He opted out of the corona season in 2020. Bo played on special teams in 2021 where he blocked 2 punts. He then switched to wide receiver where he stated in 2022. A freak injury led to a medical redshirt in 2023. Bo will tranfer to Northwestern Oklahoma A&M and be immediately eligible for the 2024 season."
