Ah the spam. Real ESPN chat og’s probably remember the infamous “Bill Ontario” spam.

Yeah, it's still on their AP news stories, not just their articles, opinion pieces or long-form.

This. I started posting there in 2004. I wish I would have known about Tigerdroppings instead.

The millennials couldn’t handle any critiques of their liberal agenda.
Is what it is.

I lived on the NBA board there during high school.

I seem to recall that name but there were quite a few. As soon as you made a post the screen had scrolled out of sight.

Getting rid of comments is sure to make sure you grow your viewership.

They probably got bombarded in the comment sencrion and didn't want anyone to know that conservatives were out in force.
Then again what would be the point of making a (conservative) political opinion in a sports discussion on ESPN?

I missed those message boards. I remember actually meeting some really cool TA&M fans before the 2012 game. Had some really good debates before the game and it wasn't that hard to crow up after the game either. Pity it got axed

Also they had in game threads and teams message boards that had pretty big communities. It was great and then ESPN updated it and slowly turned it into a Facebook comment section. The update basically killed of ESPN message boards and comment section for games.

Congrats on being one of the reasons we can't have nice things.
