It's a good thing she knows the game because she wouldn't get the job based on her looks.
And yes, her voice takes some getting used to.

What does it say about you if you have a problem with female announcers?

I'd be more pissed off if Joey Galloway was calling the game than that chick.
There are a lot worse out there than Mowens. Most females have a hard time pulling off sporting events because their voice just isn't fit for it, but she does a good job, technically.
Agree on the voice thing.

Don't understand why there aren't more female presenters. It's not a position which requires much knowledge.

Why are there men announcers for womens college basketball and the WNBA?
Because BAsketball is a sport played by both, and men know a lot about playing it.
Football is not. No, woman knows what it is like to play football at this level, and i think it is stupid to have them commentate on something they never experienced.

That and the fact there are 4 more games today, 3 Monday, & 5 more Tuesday on ESPN. Takes a lot of announcers and analysts.
This. There's a bunch of announcers of both genders getting the opportunity to give it a shot on a larger stage. I haven't heard of a bunch of the MEN that are announcing some of these minor bowl games (some I have heard of but didn't realize they made the jump to announcing). There are plenty of "new" male announcers on par with the women.
Why not give a few of 'em a shot? If it turns out that one of they're female announcers is really proficient... Gold mine.

What's wrong with it? Why can't a female do it?
Even my wife turns volume down when it's. female announcer. It's an atrocity to football. It's not natural. On the sideline for a quick update, fine. Play by play, gimme Verne anyway over any female I've ever heard ever

You gotta be shitting me. If Verne knows what day of the week it is and where he's doing the game, that's as good as you're going to get.

I don't think he's qualified to talk about regular sex.
