You are a fool if you think that.... as long as Elwsy was still there, HE was the most important player on that team...which btw was loaded..... TD was a great back. His performance against GB in the SB was just unreal considering the headache and all..... but it was STILL Elways team.....

That's what separates Sayers and Payton from other backs. As well as Sanders... for a majority of their careers they play on shitty teams.....

Prove me wrong then: he rushed for 157 in the first SB win SB record 3 TDs, THE massive component of one of the league's best rushing attacks that was unstoppable, 2,000 yard MVP season in 1998-the repeat year, twice led the league in rush TDs, his performance those years were a MAJOR reason those teams won the Super Bowl, Denver really used the run to set up the pass that point and TD proved that beyond comprehension and inference.

When you're the league MVP, you can't logically be anything but the CENTERPIECE can you not? Lol

gained 15,000 yards from scrimmage in 11 seasons,

He actually had 18000 yards from scrimmage which ranks 5th all time. Averages out to about 1678 yards per season which is damm impressive.

He has no concept of context. He reads things off Wikipedia and thinks that's all there is. I'm fairly confident he's in his early 20's to he didn't actually see those Broncos teams.

His best thread was the best NFL of the 60s. No chance he saw any of them play.

gale sayers is the most overrated NFL player of all time

Set an NFL rookie record with 22 TDs.

Led the NFL in rushing, tore up his knee, came back and led the NFL in rushing again.

Six TDs in one game.

Averaged over 30 yards per KO return.

Held multiple NFL and Bear records when he retired, having played only 68 games.

In other words, he didn't suck.

He is considered a great back but the NFL has evolved into a passing league and most don't remember one great season.

passing league? Part of the reason Tomlinson is considered elite was due to his ability to catch the football. I mean the dude caught 100 balls in his third season

And could throw too, 7 TD passes which ranks 2nd behind Walter Payton all-time for non-QBs

By whom?

The "last thing I saw crowd?"

OP has a point...

I never see LT in Top 10 lists except for millennial fanboys but not long-time NFL writers.

Unless you mean elite, like one of the Top 25.
