I still don’t understand why that was overturned

3-4 steps with clear control isn’t a catch?

You're right. Should've been a catch and forward progress. Result is a OSU loss all the same no cap fr

The argument that I think they would make is that he was maybe still trying to bring the ball in to his body? It looked like a very clear catch in slow motion but more bang bang in real time.

Didn't complete the catch. Subjective call. Surprised they overturned it.

I don’t get the replay vs. real time argument. It was still 3-4 steps.

Play Wade’s “targeting” in real time. No one can react that quickly to a QB ducking into a hit.

In real time you could see he was still securing it. In slow motion it clearly looked like a catch. The rules analyst said the same thing. Surprised they overturned it.

I don't think the feet matter when making the call.

They took away Jeffersons catch then fumble out of bounds that looked similar

I don’t like the targeting call either when the offensive player lowers their head but the defender having his head down will always kill him.

The slow motion argument is that you can slow a play down enough to make anything look like a catch. Not saying that’s the case here though.

The bigger thing I don't understand is how you overturn that.

What the frick does “securing” it matter? If he went out of bounds after his first foot hit the ground, it would have been ruled a catch.

Which is further proof of how bad Ohio State got fricked.

Targeting fricking sucks forever, but they've laid the burden on defenders whether we like it or not.

I think that an ejection should be an option but not automatic. Like the hit from the OU defender should warrant an ejection. Launched himself and lead with his head. The OSU one was probably a 15 yard penalty but he shouldn’t have been ejected

Opposed to them blowing it dead as an incompletion?

That logic makes zero sense.
