McNabb is not close to being a hall of famer.
Yep
He never was anything more than slightly above average
At no point in his career was he ever a top 5 QB in the league IMO

Tony Gonzalez will retire as the best TE to ever play. You could make arguments for Manning and Brady as being the best at their position if you wanted to, but no question with Gonzalez, so I don't find the statement about him being the biggest shoe in that much of a stretch.
that's because it's not. but it's an absolutely impossible argument to make since all 3 are gonna be 1st ballot.

Has anyone mentioned Antonio Gates or Brian Urlacher yet?

McNabb was a very good QB. Well above average. Just not nearly a Hall of Famer. There's a lot of space between "above average" and Hall of Famer.

maybe not first ballot, but I can see him in there as one of the best kickers in NFL history.

Nice call on urlacher. Won't be first ballot if he's same
Year as Lewis though

He is no Jay Cutler.
Good call on Urlacher. Surprised that he was not mentioned.
By the way, Vinatieri should not make it, IMO. Overrated kicker. Out of recent kickers, I think Vanderjagt actually has the highest percentage of field goals made. I would not put any of them in.
The only placekicker in the Hall (that did not play another position) is Jan Stenerud, who is deserving IMO. He introduced "soccer-style" field goal kicking and hit 70% of his FG, at a time when 53% was the average.

Terrel Owens has a good shot.
No way. Receiver is a log-jam right now and it's only going to get worse. Irvin wasn't first ballot.
The only receiver who played this past decade who has a great shot at 1st ballot (besides Moss who is still borderline 1st) is Larry Fitzgerald.
Fitz - 8,204 career receiving yards (double future Hall of Famer Cris Carter's 4,577 that he had at the same point in his career.)
Fitzgerald also has 65 career touchdowns - Carter had 42 at the same point in his career.

TO has been cut from every team he has ever played for because he cannot get along with his QB.
He was not cut by Dallas, the bills or The bengals because of QB problems no matter how bad the media tried to spin it that way. Hell he wasn't even cut by the bengals (and buffalo I think). His contract ended
