What 12 teams would look like in previous CFP

You’ll note that at least 50% of the Big Ten, SEC and Big 12’s membership would have reached the playoff at least once over a seven-year period. That’s a massive shift when you consider five teams (Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Notre Dame) have taken 78.6% of the total bids during the CFB Playoff era.

The 12 team playoff is better for the sport of college football. Purist will say that adding teams will ruin it, but once they went to the 4 team playoff, there was no going back
The BCS was fine. The 4 team playoff was an absolute joke
CFB became regional (Southeastern, and Midwestern) and having the PAC12 included will help bring back some mystique to the game, whether you like or not
If the only alternative was to add more, 12 is the right call

How anyone could say that wouldn't have been more entertaining than a 4 team playoff with a bunch of meaningless bowl games is beyond me.
The same people that oppose an expanded playoff are likely the same people that want "moarrrrr bowls".

I also believe this will help even out the talent level across the board. May take a few years and you will always have your bamas, Ohio states ect... but I think the gab will start to shrink when recruits know they can go to a lot of places to get exposure and and a chance to make and play in the playoff.

I’ve never heard a fan say they want more bowl games.

This exercise only works if you believe that the committee put all their effort into the entire final top 25 poll instead of just the top 4. Which I don’t buy they did.
The same teams being left in the cold will still be left out imo you’ll just get 2-4 teams from a couple different conferences (SEC, big 10) to make up the 5-12 teams

UCF 2019 and Cincinnati 2020 get in, IMO

Maybe not asking for more bowls, but people on this forum are always talking about "more football" with the bowl games anytime someone suggests getting rid of them. People love all these shitty bowls because it's "tradition".
Well that "tradition" has gone to shite with the playoffs because people don't care about anything if it's not the playoff. Hell, there was a post last year about Oklahoma's Cotton Bowl win being not so spectacular because it wasn't a playoff game. It's the damn Cotton Bowl, but the sentiment wasn't wrong. All of a sudden, the Cotton Bowl was a consolation prize.
People want more than just 3 postseason games, but not if they mean something. It makes no sense.
Opponents of the expanded playoff argue that it makes the regular season mean less, but half of the FBS get a consolation prize at the end of the season for being average or better. Get rid of the bowl games except for a half dozen or so of the prominent ones, and send 12 teams to the playoff. Make the postseason mean something again.

Agree, they need to do away with the committee

Why couldn’t you just do 8? 6 champions and two at large. That accomplishes the same.

No it doesn’t
If the FBS is going to continue the farce they are portraying, it has to go to 12
Cincinnati, UCF, BYU, etc don’t have a shot to make it into a 6 or 8 team playoff.

247 too lazy to edit the 12 teams so it matches the proposed requirements.
