Not a bad thing for Haskins, IMO. He will benefit from a year or two as a backup.

Amazing this is the narrative coming out of DC. A young QB (10 starts total over 2 seasons) who is in a brand new system, with no off-season in said new system, a young OL, limited weapons on offense and only 3 games into the NFL season. Yet “he” is the one that must play well.

He just threw for 350 against the Ravens with a 71% completion percentage.
Not saying he’s going to become a great QB, but he basically has no help on the offense outside of McLaurin. He was setup for failure from the start.

This part is crazy because if Alex Smith is healthy enough to actually play, I have a hard time believing he’s not the best QB on the roster

Surprising. Most around here seemed to expect Haskins to at least get a couple of more weeks before getting benched.
And even then most expected Smith to take his place first.
But I get that Rivera is familiar with Allen from their brief time with the Panthers and Smith has played a snap in about 2 years.
