People just say things. There is zero reason for Brewerton to leave Zachary. He has what WM wants right now. If I was a coach I would love the thought of WM until they told me I couldnt do anything that I wanted Bachman has put his neck on the line with ASH, got a really nice construction project up and running. He wasnt leaving until that is seen through at a minimum. Maybe he interviewed, maybe he didnt. But he has had the same team with him for years, if he goes anywhere, most are going with him.

I don't think anything is wrong with Lakeshore, they're consistently good. Sometimes guys just want to take a shot at the big time and see what they can do.
He will have a great area to get athletes, he will have support, he has dang near a blank slate. And Metairie is easier to sell than West Monroe. eta....Mandeville...not Metairie.

this ain't the same WM it was. I wonder if their holdback ratio is the same as the shows era? I don't see bachman going anywhere.

We’re getting mixed up here

Indest is on the Northshore, not Metairie

I think the job has plenty of allure, if you were around the program in the 90's... that kind of fanaticism is only a winning coach away

then he would remember playing a regular season game in front of 40,000 fans and the right coach would play in front of 12,000 rabid fans every home game... it could be the job of a lifetime for the right coach

I feel bad for reb72 lol… Ruston’s doing what 90s West Monroe did in the Dome three consecutive years and they’re not drawing crowds like that

From what I gather there’s a ton of entrenched coaches on staff there and they won’t wiggle at all for external hires making changes for the staff and there’s a district cap on compensation so they can’t really pay on par with some of the top top salaries elsewhere

The road to mediocre is paved with caving to the demands of very replaceable assistants. WM good knowing ya'

My point may kinda still stand!

I see this both ways, yes they are replaceable, but they are not super highly paid....and this is HS football not the SEC. Firing them as school employees and leaving them searching for work mid way in the school year would be pretty awful.

For our sake I hope not, not only do I enjoy the good football, he is a good man and the more good guys you can have around your kids the better. I appreciate his efforts here. But I also know, as much improved as we are with support and community excitement, we still have a school board that is absolutely archaic in the way they think about athletics. And our resources are just split too many ways to too many schools. He has an absolutely loaded roster for 2026, almost anyone in his shoes would want to stick it out till the 2027 kids are seniors. They could be absolutely special.

I don’t have a user account on Sportsline, but people send me links. Don’t feel bad for him. Every post I’ve ever seen was highly inaccurate. Knowing what was really going on and reading that 20+ page thread there…man nothing but swings and misses.

I met him the last time Chalmette played WM. He’s a nice enough guy

Jj I think the world of Jerry he’s always been straight up and brutally honest with me. Yet always very respectful. He goes way back with several folks that shaped a young choupique and my son.

The WM of today may not really be the same as it was a decade plus ago.

How many publics have had runs like them post integration - especially in the higher classes.

The bashing of Jerry pisses me off. It also may have played a part in making the search more difficult.

Loved talking w Jerry about bream beds!

Haven’t heard a bad thing about him as a man. Just the inaccuracy of posts is crazy to me. And they’ll stand on it like they’re 100% sure. Someone said he didn’t interview nor applied. Did both. There are some questions that many want answers to, but ultimately I haven’t heard anyone that knows DMike that isn’t excited for him to get the chance. Everyone has to get their first win somewhere.

His brother Kevin was a coach at Riverside when I played and he was a good man.
