I want to switch my irons but I'm scared to pull the trigger.....hate to spend money on clubs when it should go to tuition.

I'll keep hitting these CG16's unless my bonus check next month is really nice.

Yep, didn't go last night but listened. My take after seeing 4 games live and listening to the rest; pitching will be ok, hitting will be a concern (still struggle with breaking ball pitchers), speed is very good, defense has been shaky. Lots of young talented guys but they need to grow up quick.

Catcher is fun to watch, kid has a cannon and moves well behind the dish.

I'm pretty good with the long irons. But I love the ball flight with my hybrids. The 3 and give gives me a good yardage gap. 3 and 4 were too close in yardage. I usually hit my hybrids on 2nd shot par 5. 3 hybrid 2-3 times on the tee box. So they get some good use

had the same prob with 5i and 6i. So i checked the lofts and the 6i had a 5i loft. No quality control anymore

I must have the same problem, my driver must have 5 iron loft

It's more that it left too much gap between my 5 iron and 4hybrid. Yardage wise. 5 hybrid more like a 4 iron. I just hit it better with a higher flight.

I would never think to check loft on irons. I would just assume it was me more than the club

I like the real golf talk going on here guys. lets talk about grip pressure.

ONe key I recently have been working on since my lesson and a tip from another ex-pro is managing my grip pressure on the club. I slowly got to the point where from the forearms down I was squeezing way too hard. I 've been doing a little excercies with breathing and releasing pressure at address just before take way and its really helping me release the club and stripe the irons the way I used to.

Take Harry Vardon's advice in Greatest Game Ever played. Hold the club like a bird, firm enough to keep it from getting away, but soft enough not to crush it

forged irons can change lie and loft after use. it is a good idea to have them checked once a yr

yep that is the sweet spot with grip pressure…just like Vardon…I"m trying to ingrain the breathing and grip pressure release into my set up when I hit balls to the point where its unconscious.

As soon as I get done with training for work, I'm gonna start trying to work out again. I am able to hit the ball a decent distance on occasion, but a little extra strength wouldn't hurt

You may try relaxing your shoulders. As your shoulders become less tense, the pressure in your forearms on down will also let up.

Sam Snead famously quipped that to grip the club with the proper amount of pressure, one should feel as if they're holding onto a baby bird: grip the club firmly enough that it can't fly away, but not so firmly that you crush the thing.

Less famously, Ben Hogan said "what Sam Snead didn't tell you is that the baby bird is a hawk."

Play a little bit when time allows. Play in a fair amount of local tournaments. Also try to practice when i can.
