I might check out Black Bear or Squire Creek when I make a run to Bastrop this summer to pick up turf.

For Alexandria being the worst city in Louisiana, they probably have the best golf courses in the area.

I don't think you can play Squire without a member. Black bear is open. Summer time it's ridiculously tough. Ball runs forever.

I don't think I've ever stopped in Alexandria except for the BK on the Pineville expressway

That's right.

I think we'll have some turf interns at Squire Creek though. Maybe I can holler at them and get a "course tour".

Links on the Bayou is just flat out fun to play. Oak Wing is tougher, but a great course. Tamahka is a short drive away in Marksville.

La tour and Lakewood have the same greens. They are both always in good shape. Atchafalaya greens can be a crapshoot. They looked great last time we played. Did not like the overseed at TPC greens.

Black bear is a great course. Always maintained very nice. I play every year on a Wednesday in April and we pretty much have it to ourselves. Pretty sure it runs around $40 during the week.

Always want to stop at that course in Alexandria but never have. Hear good things.

March 10-13

Shell Landing has free replays.

Early morning tee time, and then play when beHop and friend get in town.
