If you can figure that out and if you have the tool, I may take it off your hands for $75...especially if I keep hitting my driver like I did today.

Likely the indian, but I can't get used to the new shaft I have in it. Cut it down today to see if that will help.

Question about a drop. Water runs down the whole length of a hole and around the green. I hit into a bunker and plug. Ball runs across the green which is bulkhead, into water. Was I correct in dropping in raking the bunker and dropping from that point. What sucks is the drop plugged

You could have possibly dropped at the bulkhead depending on the curvature of the green if you could find a place not closer to the hole

You can rake it before dropping.

Was the hazard marked with yellow or red stakes?

Unless I'm reading this wrong, that would be an illegal drop.

Yeah that's incorrect I believe. But it's worded weird

Re-reading it, I get what he's saying. If he could drop within 2 club-lengths of where the ball crossed the hazard without going closer to the hole, he could drop at the bulkhead.

Yes, that's what I meant

It's hard to imagine doing it without being closer to the hole, but you'd be surprised how often it's possible

You have to imagine an aerial view of yourself which can be tough

Bunker on right and water left of green. Pretty much flew across green. It was fricked up because I knew the result before I hit. Went way too aggressive on the swing. I was wondering if I could have gone 2 clubs from the edge but don't think that was right.

That's what I was thinking. You drop at bulk head no closer

Can't take a bunker then hit out of it

Only if it was no closer to the hole

Like I said, depends on the angle/curve of the wall

What you did is fine. You can always drop "as near as possible" your original spot after hitting into a water hazard. I'm not sure about raking it first, but I'll take golfer at his word.

As for the other options, it depends on if the hazard was marked yellow or red (lateral). If it was yellow, you'd have had to either do what you did or go on the other side of the hazard and drop. If it was red, you can drop near the bulkhead as long as you aren't nearer the hole.

Yea, here's an idea. He could have:

1. Played it where it landed (red x)
2. Dropped where the last shot was played (black x)
3. Dropped within 2-club lengths from where the ball crossed the hazard, no nearer to the hole. In this case it would be left of the hole (in yellow) when looking at it because of the curvature.
4. He could also continue that dotted line to the other side of the lake.

Yeah he can play from the bunker but can't take it. Problem is that you are 99% gonna get a shite lie dropping on a bunker
