I think it's a fair assessment. If an 8-10 handicapper would spend the time practicing, they would no longer be an 8-10 handicapper. I'm the perfect example. If I would practice chipping, I think I could improve about 3-5 shots a round.

You're trusting that the lofts are identical. A lot of clubs aren't what they claim to be. This is especially true in drivers.

How is it legal? I can understand how the iron lofts get changed to sell the clubs as "longest on the market" but the lofts aren't stamped on the clubhead like a wedge is.

The weighting makes sense though.

I'm as good at golf as I want to be. It's a hobby. It's something I do to get away and clear my head. If I get too good I'll care about my score too much and I won't enjoy it as much

While I understand that sentiment, I'm crazy competitive. I like being the best out of the group of guys I play with so that's what drives me to keep trying to improve. It's crazy, I know. But I can't change it.

I just can't have that outlook. It's a game and it's competitive, therefore I enjoy trying to be as good as possible at it. Can I go out and enjoy beers and a good time with my friends on the course, yes. But the entire time I am doing everything I can to shoot the best score possible. Just like playing pickup basketball. I do that for fun, but I'm still trying to play my best.

I'm working on nerding harder.

It's tough. But it's the only way to get any respect around here.

Don't get me wrong I'm very competitive and want to play well every time I go out. But if I suck that day I don't let myself get frustrated. I don't have time to practice so I know I'll probably never have a single digit handicap and I'm ok with that. Hell I'm lucky I even get to play at all between work and the three kids 5 and under

I try and shoot the best I can every hole, but I'm pretty good about having fun no matter what. I just love being out there.

When I told ole man I might go play 9 more holes at Beaver on my way out after 6 straight days of golf for my spring break(shitty shitty golf at that), he looked at me and was like "God damn you love to play golf."

Bubba talking to himself on that last putt was hilarious

"Yeah there you go, good putt idiot"

As he missed his par putt after missing the green with a wedge after driving it 370
