A few members are trying to drum up 450 people to invest $6000 each to purchase the Oaks and make it a private club. The oaks is in debt 2.6mil. If saved the dues will be $275/mo
It might just be me but this sounds like the worst idea possible.

How good of a course is the oaks? Location? What other assets would they get? Golf only or tennis, swimming? It could be a great or horrible idea depending how those and other questions would be answered

I'd have to take a look at that list to make sure the old douchers from the previous club aren't buying in.
I know that would never happen. But hell, for that amount of money, you can join/play UC or any other course around there you can get the recs for.

Course is not very good imo. It was in ok shape but the design and layout lack any imagination. You can hit a ball 3 holes over and still play it. Any course that can let this happen is not a good course.
