No doubt, first set I ever had as a teenager had an old wooden ping 1 wood. When you nut a persimmon it's an awesome feeling.

If I was in a tournament and got paired up with a dude that busted out a persimmon I would think this dude is a badass and is about to go off

You forget how old I am. I was considered a long knocker back when everybody used those clubs. i cant wait for it to come in to see if there is any difference. Im going to say now, that i will be longer with the wood - at worse you won't see a difference

Weave finally qualified for the am ... All he's talked about is grinding on the range this weekend then he posts a pic of a mental game book .. The over/under just went to 85 ..

I'll take the under. Weave's my golf Yoda.

Do not underestimate the dark side of the force, threeputt.

ETA: Darkside in reference to the Gary Player kit.

Better order some old Balata balls

Granted, I'm not old enough where I really played persimmon, but I took one out and thought I roped it. It was a good 70 yards behind my current driver

We found one on 16 at The Island this past Friday.

Who plays, at minimum, a ten year old ball?

Granted I am 50 lbs heavier and not as limber as my playing days but I hit the ball shorter with te new drivers than I did in the early 90s when I was a teenager

I'm sure he can break 85....all he ever does is post his low 70s scores from Sherwood
