This at the Bluffs, right? What is the date for this tournament?

Its all mental, bro.
Yep. I can hit golf balls with anybody. Problem is I've got the mental fortitude of a cantaloupe. I've played golf for 25 years. I was as good or better when I was 14 as I am now at 35. I learned to just take it for what it is

I always thought you were older, something to do with Ole' Geuxt I guess.

See, I was told this too, and there is definitely some merit to it; but to me the excitement of making an awesome lucky shot out of the shite greatly outweighs the inevitable frustration of fricking up a lay up.

At some point I may have to do that, but as long as I keep showing flashes of being better I will keep chasing it. I play with people who are a lot better than I am and I will watch them have a blow up hole and then make a couple birdies or 5 or 6 pars in a row to get it back. I don't have the ability to do that just yet but it's what I'm striving for

this guy I was playing with a few weekends ago had the shittiest looking swing I have ever seen. But damn it that dude went on a streak of 5 birdies, then, par and then another birdie to finish. I was so damn envious. But I was still happy with only 2 triple bogeys that round :) Still chasing that triple bogey free round

that's the mental side of it for sure. Right now I feel like I am probably going to hit a bad recovery shot so I might as well swing for the fences. I keep telling myself that the next round will be the round I take my medicine and just put it back in the fairway, but I always find a way to justify taking chances

No way man. I'm still a spring chicken.

I think that's why golf is such a good 'life lesson' sport.
When you're fricked, and things aren't going your way, nobody is gonna hold your hand and make it all better. You've got to fix whatever problem(s) you've created for yourself.
I like rounds when I bomb the front, and dig myself out of a hole on the back and shoot close to par. But really, that's almost every round.

Last few rounds, if I have been behind a tree or out of position, I have decided to punch it back into the fairway. It has saved me quite a number of strokes.

I am a real life Tin Cup and will lose every ball in the bag to hit the hero shot
I swear, next round if I have a questionable lie I will wedge out and go from there

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. My plan is to stay aggressive off the tee, but take my medicine everywhere else. Goal for my next round is to never hit a shot that makes me uncomfortable. Or at least minimize those shots. Could be a wedge around a lake of my lie is bad or real conservative line on a punch out from the trees.

Solid plan, will try the same. I will hit a couple more 3 woods off the tee though, maybe even hybrid if the hole is less than 350

No. Mid-Am is at the bluffs in August. State Am is in Shreveport.

They have 155 for the tournament, so they probably will cancel all but 1 or 2 qualifiers and have the non-exempt hash it out from there.
