Terry was knocking down shots, Smith played good, Jones was getting fouls, Harden played out of his mind and the Rockets still lost. If Dwight doesn't play I wouldn't be surprised if the Warriors swept..

Terry missed like his first 5 shots. Jones was terrible. "Getting fouls" is your positive? Smith could be better. Harden definitely played well, but he is capable of playing the way he did late for even longer stretches. We're going to need it. If Howard ends up being able to play, we will be thankful for the experience and confidence that Capela was able to gain last night. It's deadly if we can rotate those two.

I agree with most of these points, but GS didn't play that well during periods last night either. Both teams can play better, and if that is the "middle" game for both teams ok, Houston can win it. I just got the feeling that you need to win that game last night when you have the chances

I said Howard had to dominate this series for Hou to win. If Capela can do it instead, fine

Meh Dwight got injured and they still made it a close game.
Dwight played 26 minutes.. and is only averaging 32 per game this post season so I wouldn't give that much clout.

He was needed in the 4th and his presence would have been huge.

He wasn't as effective in those 26 as he usually is. I was shocked when I saw he was in there for 26; seemed more like 15 or tops 20

I also think we can't overreact from one game. It's a small sample size. Look at the Clippers-Houston series. Every game was just completely different. In a 7 game series, tons of adjustments are made and every player has highs and lows. For all we know, Curry will have one of his horrible three point shooting nights on Thursday. Or maybe Harden will have one of his 7/9 type of nights. These are two good NBA teams. Anything can happen.

He was out in the 4th when GS went small and Smith/Jones pooped the bed. Bogut in the game was a net positive for the Rockets last night.

I would love to see a Cappella and howard 4/5 line up

That is skewed by 2 games where he played 17 and 18 minutes in blowout games.

If you throw those out, he's averaging nearly 37 minutes per game... and if it is a really tight game, he could play 40.

That's a huge difference. At least be honest.

I feel the Rockets had to somehow get that game last night. They were in position and didn't finish the job

Rockets could definitely look back at this game as a missed opportunity to steal. But at the same time, keeping it that close with a hobbled Dwight, they could look back at it as the game that showed them GS isn't any better than em. If the Rockets can get Playoff Dwight the rest of the series, I think everyone has to like their chances more than they did at the start of the series. That knee is gonna be crazy important.

Such a fluke injury too. Of course Josh Smith would fall right into his knee. It honestly looked like a Yao injury.

Who's not to say he could have gotten in foul trouble where he might not have been able to play in the 4th? Rockets already played half the regular season without him so that's no excuse.

But Rocketards do have an excuse to fall back on now when they get swept

Do the Rockets beat the Clippers without Dwight?

Everyone knows in the playoffs, we need Dwight to win. It's not the regular season where we can just run teams up and down the floor. And we couldn't even do that to the Warriors without Dwight in the regular season.

Are you really trying to argue that Dwight doesn't make that much of a difference?

Do the Rockets have any NBA championships without MJ playing baseball?

Howard has been a beast this post season so his absence had an effect but no one can say just how much. No excuses, this team played well enough to win with out him but he will be need to have a chance in game 2 and beyond.

If I wanted to make an excuses it would be not having d-mo so we could bench Jones but that is not a productive conversation

So now you're just going to troll instead?

And the answer is yes.
