Ole Miss was a joke this year, they were lucky they played a team minus their QB, the most overrated team in College Football this year.

Arguably the most talented starting lineup in the conference and dismantled this UGA team. Ole Miss, when motivated, was a top 5 team. They just couldn't get up for every game, which is coaching. However, I have little doubt they'd be motivated for the CFP and would've beaten Notre Dame and Penn State.

Take away The starting quarterback on most good. teams and they will lose when they play another good college team.

And Texas was lucky avoiding them while a team they beat by 18 was the freaking 2 seed.

As far as pure talent maybe, but something was off, they underachieved pretty much all year.

There's no such thing in CFB. You win or you don't.

And you didn't.

To be fair Milroe beat Georgia last year too, which was also a shocker.

However in the context of this discussion that was last year

There's a reason why Saban retired when he did. He knew the SEC no longer had the upper hand in paying players. Like they had for decades. It's a completely different era of college football boys

Yes they beat Texas TWICE and Tennessee and only had 2 loses. Their loses were to top 15 teams in the road. No one else has that resume.

there's slightly more nuance than "notre dame dominated georgia" as they didnt really, but they won in execution and were the better team at literally all the little things.

This is most accurate way of putting it I’ve seen.

Domers took care of the small details much better and deservedly won but there was no point (until the very end) where it didn’t feel like Georgia was only a couple of plays away from being able to take control.
