This entire diatribe of a conversation about what Tony did or did not see is what constitutes a stalemate and no criminal case. There is no evidence to indicate what Stewart was thinking or intending. He will claim via the best lawyers money can buy that he saw nothing, stayed on the track and hit a guy who shouldn't have been there. The only place this will hurt him is is wallet in terms of paying the family and lost endorsements. Nobody but Tony knows what his intentions where, we can speculate all we want.

Pretty spot on assessment.

Even if it isn't we had no problem seeing that driver in a black suit at night...be stupid to think the drivers can't see better than a camera from across the track.
You are looking for the driver and already know he is on the track. A camera zoomed in looking down on the incident can probably see better than a driver with a helmet, masked most likely covered with at the very least dust, through the cage of a sprint car and while possibly wearing HANS device.

Is Tony Stewart's nickname gonna change to "Smoked Him"?

Why does he accelerate and turn his wheels towards ward?

Because he wanted to hit the guy, obviously.

I don't think he will face criminal charges but will probably face a civil suit from Ward's family. He is likely to lose sponsorships as well. Not to mention how he will overcome the mental aspect of what happened once he gets back in a race car.
I think this likely ends Stewart's career as a top driver.

no. but unless he is some how vindicated of any wrong doing he will lose sponsors and get other sponsors. This thread is evidence of how people across the country will think. Plenty think its all on the dead guy while some think TS was acting like an arse.
I wonder what Home Depot thinks.
