Imagine if you bought a super expensive high performance sports car and half the time the thing doesn't go like you expect when you step on the accelerator because the battery is being recharged. It would be maddening.

Or opposite, you hit the brake and it speeds up.

“No Max, to speed up you use the brake” “and when you want to slow down mash the accelerator”

Verstappen will be the Kaepernick of F1. In 20 years we will be hearing fanbois say how he could still come back and win championships.

Imagine retiring from a sport that requires you to sit on your butt and drive a car. “Athletes” these days are SOFT!

Max is probably the least soft F1 driver in recent decades. He'd be stepping away because he hates the new F1 cars, not because the job is too hard.

I haven't watched a lap this year. F1 is the only sport actively trying to present an inferior product.

Sounds well informed. Didn't watch but can speak on the topic.

Why would he need to watch the actual race to know what's going on? It's literally the talk of every broadcast, news report, interview, youtube vid, podcast....

even the supporters are like, well eventually they will get it right, acknowledging that the formula as it is currently is shite.

Why does a person need to give Apple their money to understand this?

Or is this just ad hominem?

Because it is a typical F1 fan response these days. Read the social media winds and form your opinion.

Throw in a RPM reference just to be safe.

No offense, cuz I am really not trying to get into a back and forth with you and you seem very informed, but that kinda just sounds like a snob/gatekeeper response.

He very well could be a post Covid/DTS fairweather fan. Would that make commenting on the current formula as kinda crappy, invalid? Alot of people much more informed than any TD poster seem to think is crap.

This is such a stupid reply.

This site is social media too

And anyone having twitter can type in search “F1” and sort by top and it provides the actual people who report on the sport year in and year out. And they provide videos of the racing and to explain this clipping bullshite. And a majority of them hate what F1 has done. I don’t understand people who sell social media short. Its how you use it that matters and the content of the experts.

Explain who and how else you would get proper info? Magazine or network articles that are very limited and almost all paid off by advertisers who sponsor teams in the sport? Or TV sports like Apple who of course will never report the truth. In fact Apple won’t even release viewer numbers that can be verified because they suck.

There are many ways to get info and social media has changed. You must first understand trustworthy and reputable reporters in social media and can fond out about anything and faster too I might add.

Gone are days of waiting for a weekly publisher to post an article. Or any TV crew being honest about a sport since they get paid by them. Social media is in fact where you find the most reputable info but you have to check out the person before you just make assumptions. Not all content is good just like anything, so some proper vetting goes a long way.

People need to get this stigma out of their mind and realize media has changed. Look at Iran most info is via social media. Once you see a person posts bogus info you mute them. It works. And F1 sucks right now.

How much speed was clipped through 130r during the race?

It was widely reported that Max was over 50 KPH. There are videos everywhere bashing the formula over that video. So how much speed was actually clipped in 130r during the race.

Thats what those sports writers do and they said it sucked. They provided video of why.

We get it, you are the gatekeeper of F1 and no one can have different opinions of how bad it sucks.

Here’s one example how bad and dangerous it is using electric

Viewers in other countries dropped bigtime

Translation

In France, and overall in general, F1 in 2026 is experiencing a significant drop in viewership compared to 2025.

The Japanese Grand Prix averaged 404,000 viewers on Canal+, compared to 705,000 the previous year. Over the course of a year, compared to the Suzuka race, the decline is 301,000 people

Seriously. Look at the F1 thread ir is retreading "I hate the formula" retweets and "max should go to indy"

Charles and George have an epic battle with Charles passing OUTSIDE on turn 1 and it is crickets. That move by Kimi is an all time highlight but everyone would rather bitch about regs instead of actual side by side racing.
