What does that change? People get fired every day with much worse situations than that.

I'm certainly not gonna feel bad for someone getting fired in a field that is notorious for nepotism and "taking care of their own". Most fields aren't so lucky.

That's not how it seems to work. They don't always find someone else to "do the job". The "someone else" often has the same type of performance or worse.
