The last time I heard someone utter the N-word was in a Denny's at midnight on a Saturday night in the early 90s.
Some old drunk yokel who was being an arse to everyone. The two IMMEDIATELY got into a fist-fight, the cook came out of the kitchen with a butcher's knife and the cops arrived on the scene in a few minutes. It was chaos.
Everyone came to the defense of the black patron.
And that was 25 years ago.
I'm sorry but people in a stadium in Nebraska in 2021 aren't going to sit idly by while fans abuse other fans let alone spew racial epithets. That's just absurd to believe that.

Certainly, the AD wouldn't have commented without hearing from the parents themselves, right?
I don't think it happened, and I think the AD is a willing participant in the fraud.
