The NISVS report you’re referencing states that in a lifetime 31,437,000 people are a victim to white male contact sexual violence, 16,087,000 rape incidents, and 27,528,000 non-contact unwanted sexual experiences.
For Black the numbers are 5,225,000 contact sexual violence, 3,051,000 rape, and 4,344,000 non-contact unwanted sexual experiences.
When weighted for population distribution, whites were still at a higher percentage of contact sexual violence over blacks.
You need to re-read the report
quote:
Overall, black and indigenous women were reported to experience rape, stalking, and/or physical violence at rates 30 to 50 percent higher than those experienced by Hispanic, non-Hispanic white, or Asian or Pacific Islander women.
quote:
African American females experience intimate partner violence at a rate 35% higher than that of white females

No, I think you do. I stated that I’m statistically more likely to be assaulted by a white male. You made the blind assumption that “99% of assaults” are by someone of the same race. I don’t see that statistic listed in the report.

You are statistically slanted towards hanging around/dating white males by a large margin being a white female.
For a hyperbolic example, I am more likely to be killed by a white male than a grizzly bear. That does not mean white males are more dangerous to hang around.....
If you chose to date black males exclusively over white males, the statistics show your DV chances go up.

When weighted for population distribution, whites were still at a higher percentage of contact sexual violence over blacks. American Indian/Alaskan Native by population distribution is significantly higher than both as well. Almost double.
The other aspect is that white women generally report domestic violence less:
LINK
"A five-year University of Texas Houston School of Public Health study in 2000 of 1,025 couples—including 406 white, 232 black, and 387 Hispanic - found that black and Hispanic couples are two to three times more likely to report male-to-female and female-to-male intimate partner violence than white couples."
The variability of DV reporting makes actual stats far less directly reliable than they're being argued as.
I just wonder what the overall point is. I can't see it mattering that you "prove" a certain race commits crimes more unless you want to use that fact to broadly paint all members of that race.

Did you miss the part that is weighted by population distribution? White men still had a higher percentage of contact sexual violence (38.9) than Black (35.5). So it wouldn’t go up, it’d be about the same.
I mean if we’re grabbing for random shite like that, by just living in Kentucky I am at a higher risk for sexual assault than most states. Want to guess the majority of the population distribution in Kentucky? 88.3% of the state is white.

What do you think prompted her friend to try and look up the guy online? How do you think her friend found the guys information?

I’m just countering the notion that dating a black man automatically puts you at a higher risk of incidents like in the OP when statistically there’s a greater chance of being assaulted by a white man in a domestic violence situation.
The reality is, crazy isn’t exclusive to race.

prolly looked him up online in a multitude of ways after said dodgey behavior. That doesnt mean thats a normal thing to expect a woman to do to every person they meet

When examined by race/ethnicity, multiracial women had the highest national rate of contact sexual violence in their lifetime (49.5%). Among non-Hispanic women of a single race, American Indians/Alaska Natives had the highest national rate of contact sexual violence in their lifetime (45.6%), followed by White women (38.9%), Black women (35.5%), and Asian/Pacific Islander women (22.9%). One-quarter (26.9%) of Hispanic women experienced contact sexual violence in their lifetime.

what you keep posting is a NON-WEIGHTED NUMBER for TOTAL % of VICTIMS

Because she wasn't using her head...

Its completely normal for random total strangers. Theres many background check websites online for checking people out.

Statistically, there’s a far great chance I will be abused/raped/assaulted by a white guy than a black guy.
Eh. Black males only make up roughly 6.6% of the population but are responsible for roughly 47% of homicides and roughly 42% of violent crime per the FBI.

I’m literally posting stats from the report you’re accessing.
Once again, nowhere have you posted the statistic that says “99% of assaults occur by the same race”. You’re making a blanket assumption.
I’m literally posting stats that say X race commits X number of assaults compared to X race. Even when weighted for their population distribution in the US.
Apples and oranges.
ETA: Fair enough.

And your estimate number you are posting on the victims, literally says "estimate not statistically reliable"
The actual measured number, has black women 61% higher in experiencing a sexual crime.....

She did?????
even if she did do you think a background check would have saved her life after he had already met her? Her fate likely wouldve been the same because hes clearly unstable

its also much more normal to not do it.

Then if your blanket assumption that 99% of sexual assaults are by the same race and there more white victims than black (and when weighted for population still more white victims) doesn’t that suggest there’s still a better statistical chance of being in an domestic violence incident with a white man than a black man?
