Its all cause they know they will get that butt smoked like a swisha sweet if they actually played the s e.c .

Seems that you were a star student in the latest Hooked On Ebonics class. ENGLISH please!

So, RLDSC, do you think this screws up USCw's hopes for a title this year?

It's a huge blow no doubt. Dline is the one position we can least afford to lose any players. I never really thought we had the defense to get to the title game this year and this only makes it that much harder.

The offense can be prolific. But In order for SC to have a decent BCS CG chance, the O cannot have a subpar game against decent teams.

I was kinda leaning that way myself. I think USC could have the best 22 starters in the country, but the depth was always going to be a problem, especially having to face Oregon, who can run circles around most teams' relievers.

actually almost all the SC posters on here have said the same thing. While our offense has a chance to be special this year the defense still leaves a lot to be desired. Monte is a HOF coach but I don't know how suited he is for the college game.

You talking about being able to relate with players or dissect college offenses? He's probably having more fun now than he ever did in the NFL and I'm sure there are plenty of coaches around who can help him get a handle on some of these fast paced, read option offenses. If anything, it's his age and mental and physical health.

Damn, USC allowed 23 points per game last year? That's weak.

Utah led the Pac 12 in scoring defense with 20 points per game?

Terrible.

You'd bet money USC would make it before OU?

Make those numbers in "odometer style" and you'll have something there. We can just adjust it that way for when we lose the next player to injury.

Y'all certainly can't afford too many, especially on defense. Hate to hear it for the kid.

Still makes me laugh after all these years...in 4 games the SEC was able to muster just 48 points and their vaunted defenses took a pounding - USC was too physical for Auburn in that 2003 meeting and made the SEC East winner Arkansas look like Troy State.

Comparing those wins to the future success against SEC teams is

Those 4 teams wouldn't even be considered in the top 20 of SEC teams in the last decade. Oregon fans had the same logic last year before the Jerryworld game because the prior year they had beat down Tennessee, while LSU barely won. Needless to say their logic was way wrong.

Matt Barkley said last years ASU defense was the toughest he has ever faced....that tells you everything you need to know about the level of competition they are playing against.

Those mid 2000s USC teams were some of the best CFB teams of all-time.

Pac 12 is soft on defense.
