Quit trying to baby lawyer people slow. The kid is a player. No question, he's one of the only LB's this year to fit any scheme in the NFL. He is a freak and when he makes his first pro bowl I'll remind you.

i'm not saying he couldn't make a pro bowl. that doesn't make him a freak

pat willis running a 4.38 at 250 while being twice the LB that cushing is, is a "freak"

Moala is pretty top heavy, as well. Ellison, too, I believe.

Might be. SC guys have consistantly done very well on the bench. Rey Rey isn't that strong, just thick so I'm not sure about him. His main issue is trying to keep his weight down.

I think it might just be what carroll wants. It seems like Carroll loves huge dudes no matter if it compromises a bit of speed even at receiver.... see BMW, Patrick Turner, and Jarrett. DB seems to be especially rampant. Kevin Ellison is slow as frick and up to about 240 something pounds and destined to try to play the Will

Taylor Mays is the obvious exception to all of this

Now there's the freak. Still can't believe he stayed for another year.

I would not mind it if the Saints took Matthews. Watched his pro-day which was great. Love the fact that he has safety experience, which should project well in coverage and the fastest of the three LBs. Also should be a monster on ST.

I should have clarified my def of freak.

LaRon Landry = Super Freak
Pat Willis = Super Freak

Knowshawn Moreno = Freak, but had multiple Super Moments

since we're talking about more than just USC LBs now, i'm really wondering how pat turner turns out

he seems to be a better overall athlete than BMW and jarrett, but he just didn't have the amazing production

it would be hilarious if he turned into a good NFL WR while the other 2 did not

Knowshon is slow. Being a freak and being a great player are two different things

Matt Jones= Freak, but a shitty player

i don't think he's close to this label

1, 4.35 that shocked everyone (including himself i bet) at 210 or so isn't this unheard of thing. it's pretty common

now a 4.28 at 6-2, 230 (andre johnson)? super freak

or a 4.66 at 6-7, 290 (mario williams)? super freak

PT had a great pro day and seems to be still improving a lot. The improvement from his first 3 years to his senior year were significant. He used to not be able to catch shite, but his hands have improved dramatically

He does still love him some holding penalties though

Once again, I say that I am not a big numbers guy. I look at football players. I guess coaching high school gets me thinking in another perspective. They said on NFL net that PT caught the ball really well during his pro day workout.

I guess a Freak to me is a step up from a "gamer".

The kid came out in nickel situations in college. The kid sucked huge dick when he had to fill in in the middle. The kid is nowhere near this athletic freak he is made out to be. Wow, he's got big muscles that make him stiff in his movements!! FREAKISH!!

he actually started 2 years

playing a situation pass rush role is not "starting"

i'm still waiting to hear how he's a freak

6-3, 243 and a 4.7

nothing freakish there

Not true. 3 year starter...play LEO as a soph and did it better than matthews did.

He was playing at 6-3 260 then too so he can definitely put on the weight

god i don't want Cushing or Matthews. I hate big bicep players with stiff hips. Guys that look like jacked up guidos make me wary. I would rather a much less ripped, more functional guy like Rey Rey.

He came out in nickel situations because Mavaiva is one of the best tampa 2 LBs in the draft. Give him credit and Mauguluga has made more plays in coverage than Cushing...because of more playing time.
