I am wondering about Jermaine Jones and his possible role on the pitch

he's a pure defensive midfielder. he'll run around a lot and hassle the hell out of people/take people's heads off. he'll also have a lot to say off of the field

So it was a case of getting behind from two errors, which was really the same error twice? And the American did this to us?

As far as Rossi goes it steams the hell out of every non Italian in New Jersey that he plays for the Azzuri. Harkes went to HS 10 miles from where Rossi lived in Bergen County. Rossi could have made himself the main man in the US soccer world. Just pisses you off because over the years all US soccer fans have looked for that 1 guy that would put us near the top.

hendo, just made me sick today

best game we have played in MONTHS, and that fricking red card just killed us

i still dont think we are at the optimum lineup, but i think we are getting there

what are your thoughts on our backline

i really want to see spector/gooch/boca/hejduk for SA

Wasn't Hejduk hurt or was he carded out before the match? Bornstein seems over his head.

also has Freddy Adu not developed the way we all hoped he would? Too small? Bad coaching? any idea?

yeah jeaux, hejduk is out

i dont know if you watched us mexico, but he was fricking DOMINANT in that match

and i dont know what bradleys deal is with adu. he would be our attacking mid. you dont need some monster to do that. he is phenomenal with the ball at his foot

you saw what happened when we had guys who could carry the ball with them up the middle. landycakes had that great run today, and then jozy was too unselfish

its like we are just ALMOST there, but still do stupid shite whether it be on field or from management. so frustrating

A good example of someone not a bitch would be Danny Sztella. Polish heritage, debated about playing for the Polish national team...some Polish player or coach says they have hundreds of players Sztella's capability, makes no difference to him.

Sztella says screw Poland, and punks Poland for a few goals in the U-20 World Cup in '07.

My parents are immigrants, I could never imagine playing for my parent's native country. With everything this country provides for people.....Rossi is a fig piece of shite.

This game played out like the story of U.S. soccer for the last couple of years.

Ron thats the frustrating thing. You can see we have improved but as always we need to close and learn how to win. It was a late tackle that gor Calrk the red card but it could have gone either way. Altidore was mugged but he needed someone else up front to play the ball to and to draw the defenders. When Donovan made the runs it opened up a bit for Jozy. But... Italisn soccer is all about the defense and ball control

I wonder how much Italian Rossi can speak. The guy's probably spent less time in Italy than a kid who does an NYU study abroad program in college.

I guess we will see a central midfield of Torres, Bradley, and Feilhaber/Klestjan against the Brazilians. I think Jermaine Jones will pretty much have a guaranteed spot as of September.

As for Adu, he is pretty small. Probably about 5'8" and 145 pounds. He just turned 20 so it's too early to be disappointed in him, but he's had very few opportunities the last two seasons in Europe. This has definitely limited his opportunities with the US. Also, since Dempsey is pretty much untouchable, there's no way for him to break into the starting line-up without suspension or injury.

Freakin Bob Bradley needs to put our top young talent in friendlies mixed with the mainstays more often.
I like Brian Ching and all, but he's one player off the top of my head that I can't really see being any type of X-factor for the US MNT for SA.

We definitely have not found the optimal lineup yet.

Freddy Adu vs Poland in u-20s

And then, in the U-20's vs Brazil's top U-20 talent. Brazil's next latest and greatest (Pato) got punked by Adu in this game.

The 1:03 Mark is filthy

Yeah, Freddy just can't seem to get opportunities, he was fantastic in the u-20 world cup.

Ya'll are blaming the defense for giving up goals rather than talking about how Italy earned them.

Yeah, let's see... Italy played with 11 men versus 10 for the USA... that's some real "earning" there.

Soccer is ridiculous, and anybody who would think a referee is as likely to red card an Italian as he would an American is a damn fool.

I like Hejduk and all but I think we need someone more calm in the back against the better teams. I wouldn't be upset with him at all starting, my preference is a calm poised defense. Just personal preference.

Wow, those are amazing videos

I remember watching those games in a holiday inn on channelsurfing.net

With Clark out next game I'm assuming Torres will get the start. I just don't understand why Adu isn't playing at all. It's OBVIOUS how gifted he is, and I don't care how little he is because Beaseley is like 5'8 about 130 and he still plays somehow.
