Great night of running tonight. Fields events were pretty meh. This might be the best women's track team we've sent to the Olympics. Hopefully Allman can win another gold and Hall medals. I won't mind at all if Saunders fouls out...she's probably hoping to be roommates with Nimtz.

Muhammad, Bol, and then obviously Sydney have completely changed the 400 hurdles. Smashing previous records from like 8-12 years ago. It’s incredible.

From all accounts from UK folks that ran with her, she’s also pretty nice and humble.

I was hoping Rai would break 47 and Sydney 51 before tonight.
I figured that would set them both up for golds next month. They even exceeded my expectations.

I'll be shocked if JuVaughn doesn't get in. Anyone know what his world ranking is at the moment?

I think he is number 3.
The key is that guy on LetsRun thinks the other high jumpers not named McEwen are pretty crappy in the rankings. So that should get him in.

He's definitely got a top 5 jump this year. Idk how many other people would pass him up.

The only way is if the second and third place guys were ranked top 30 in the world and/or had the Olympic standard.
Since it appears they don’t, it seems that Harrison will be the second qualifier after McEwen.

Based off of what it probably wants to be? Yes
Based off of what it actually is? No
Hal fully iaaf has rules in place to keep that from happening.
On a separate note I’ll update the final qualifier list here in a bit

Ok, no need to down vote. I was a bit confused. I mean you can understand can't you??

I get the impression this is far beyond the scope of people like Niyonsaba, Semenya, Christine Mboma, etc who were born in very poor and simple situations, raised as female despite being intersex, having natural advantages because of this physical quirk which doesn’t exist outside of very poor communities in the third world, and had to take testosterone suppressants after the 2019 (?) ruling which made their times much more pedestrian (Semenya just stopped competing, instead).
I think Hiltz’s this is much more of non binary gender situation that is more frequently seen among women who attend prestigious liberal arts college and use they/them pronouns while not having any surgeries.
