I don’t mind soccer.

The pace is intense, there’s no stoppage of play, no commercials, etc

How in the hell is it a minority opinion that two teams playing a game should produce a winner and a loser?

I’ll say that the lack of goals is what’s makes it exciting because anytime your team is near the goal the anticipation grows because you have no idea how many chances you’ll get
It also introduces much more luck into which team wins needing only 1 score due to a crazy kick, penalty, or bounce to win an entire game. The favorite per the oddsmakers loses more often in soccer than any other sport.

no one who follows baseball has ever seen a tie outside of the all star game, and even that was mercilessly mocked, or celebrates games that are 0-0 going into extras

so...

If you can’t have a winner or even have someone score a goal, what’s the point? I’m glad I don’t “get” soccer.

and yet the sport still finds a way to determine a winner and doesn't glorify 0-0 scores

Soccer has a way to determine a winner. It’s just part of how you approach the season and play a game with ties as a possibility.

If football had ties after regulation, you’d see teams approach things much differently.

I don’t think anyone is glorifying ties.

I didn’t read it all. But let’s say people are. So what? That’s the sport. It adds another layer of strategy.
