You outed yourself in this thread as a non-fantasy football player.

Kittle only had 14 games last season and he’s not playing with Drew Brees, he’s playing with Jimmy GQ who is the QB that haters think Dak Prescott is.

Haven’t played in a few years. Would definitely blame it on that.

Kittle has a great chance at having a better overall career but Jimmy Graham, no doubt. But hes still got work to do.

Yeah I don’t know what people tripping on... Graham was a more dangerous player than Kittle... damn the blocking who cares???... scheme didn’t called for it...a top 5 red zone target of all time

Pretty much.

If you can’t block at all, it means any down you are on the field for should be a passing down and immediately tips the D that they don’t need to worry about the run.

Works if you are so unstoppable they can’t prevent you from making a catch.

Less so if you lose a step somehow.

Kittle is far superior to Graham in every way.

And you just ignored all the other context. The Saints were a more pass heavy team, had a few more good receivers, and most importantly Brees is far better compared to Jimmy.

In 2018 he put up almost 1400 yards while he had combination of Jimmy, CJ Beathard, and Nick Mullens throwing him the ball.

It’s amazing how far behind elite TEs are money wise behind WRs

A guy like kittle or prime Gronk that can block and catch at an elite level are far more valuable than probably any WR but before this deal we’re coming in at half the price

I think part of that was from Gronk taking a team friendly deal early in his contract given his injury history, which capped the market for years

Put it this way, frickin Sammy Watkins was making more money than Kittle will on this contract last season

If I’m running an NFL team, I am drafting atleast 1 TE every season

They are the biggest market inefficiency in the league by far both in draft capital and in $. They have a longer pay off time but if you get 1 elite guy it’s such a huge advantage on and off the field

Gronk (2nd round)
Graham (3rd round)
Ertz (2nd round)
Kelce (3rd round)
Kittle (5th round)
Mark Andrews (3rd round)

Extremely cheap draft capital compared to the 4-7 WRs that go in the first round every season to find the gems (obviously cherry picking but it’s not like you have to draft top 10 to find one)

Then you have a guy like Kittle who can block and catch elite, has gaudy numbers with shite QBs, and hasn’t had many major injury concerns in the league and he still has to settle for Sammy Watkins money

I’d use a 2-5th round pick on a TE every season until I found my 1-2 elite ones

Teams are also so much harder on grading incoming TE prospects than they are on WR. If a WR has one elite trait, he can get into the first round. For a TE go go in the first he needs to check like every box for NFL teams. It’s insane

Kittle first 3 seasons
Graham’s first 5 seasons (with the Saints)

Kittle has averaged 981.7 yards on 102 targets
Graham has averaged 950.4 yards on 119 targets

Kittle has a catch rate of 70%
Graham has a catch rate of 66%

Kittle has 13.37 yards per reception
Graham has 12.22 yards per reception

Kittle has 4 TDs on average
Graham has 10 TDs on average

Kittle has CJ Bethard, Nick Mullens, and Jimmy Garoppolo
Graham has Drew Brees

Even ignoring that Kittle dominated Graham in every category besides TDs, he is a vastly superior blocker

Baltimore looked like idiots when they drafted Mark Andrews and Hayden Hurst in the same season

They got a stud in Andrews and turned Hurst into a 2nd rounder through trade

They drafted 2-3 others in the previous couple years as well.

It’s got the highest payoff odds at the table and the lowest minimum bet with the same win out percentage and teams like Baltimore are watching everyone else at the table betting on games that the house always wins
