Cracka said something similar afew years ago. I think it's a liability on clay, Domi Thiem notwithstanding. There are some outliers that show it can be as good as any two-hander (Stan), but it's generally going the way of the dodo bird.

Anyway it was around 2019 when Fed was still somewhat of a threat (at least at Wimbledon and maybe AO). Thiem was looking like the heir apparent to Rafa. Shitsipants was flying up the rankings. Even Musetti was looking dangerous at the time.
My bold prediction was that a slam would never be won again by a player with a 1-hand backhand. Of course I was counting on Felix to help me out once Novak and Rafa were done.
Well, it turns out that I "lost" but only because of the Covid bullshite when we had a slam final of Thiem vs. Zverev and Zverev managed to out-choke him in one of the worst finals ever played. Needless to say Novak or Rafa would have won that tourney.
These days it's not even close to a bold prediction with Alcaraz, Novak, Rafa, Med, Rune, Sinner, etc dominating the tour.

Players rackets and string technology are too good.
Do the rackets and strings not work for serves as well as returns?

Funny you say that because Cressy uses different rackets for serves and returns.

Does Novak cement absolute goat if he wins the French and getting past Alcaraz?

That would do it for me. He would have beaten the grass GOAT a few times on grass, the clay GOAT a couple of times on clay, and be the GOAT hardcourt player. And have at least three of every major.
It's not often you can get a 22 time major champion at +170, but here we are. Carlos Alcaraz - 205, Novak Djokovic +170.

He’s already there for me. Winning this tourney would just be insanity.

100%.
He's already the greatest player to ever live. This would shut the book on his case as the most accomplished men's player to ever live.

If Novak does win this tournament, there could be some good value on some decent long shots to win Wimbledon.
Does Novak bounce right back after winning the French? Seems like human nature for him to let his guard down after getting to 23.

He's not a normal human though. Plus he's probably going to rest and play maybe 1 grass warmup leading up to Wimbledon. He'll be healthier than he's been in a long time.
