This is your time to shine. A lot of people thought their 5 hour 53 match back in 2012 was one of the GOATs. If I want to watch an endurance sport, I'll turn to cycling or something. Hopefully, they get a little more aggressive in their old age. But, their defense is so good that it leads to these wars of attrition.

They seem to be hitting harder and going for more these days, but they also haven’t faced anyone on their level.

There’s always WTA... if an inferior product is more to your liking

Is this where I complain about homogenized courts and slower play etc?

No, I think that's somewhere else.

Osaka's going to regroup and win this third set.

This has been a fun match. At first Kvitova was falling apart, and Osaka was hitting some great shots. Now Osaka has seems completely distraught, acting very petulant and childish, while Kvitova stayed the course and battled back from a good sized hole she dug herself into.

You can almost see in Osaka's face that blowing those 3 championship points got into her head

I love both these players

I was pulling for Kvitova but now I can’t bear watching Osaka blow the championship this way.

This sort of typifies that change is womens tennis. Both of them are hitting this shite out of ball. Big flat shots.

They definitely gambled on winners quite often, going for some very big hits on serve returns.

Congrats to Naomi. A lot of folks would have fallen apart after blowing a triple Championship point in the 2nd set and a triple break point in the 3rd. Her experience in this match will serve her well in the future.

Such a great person to root for. Already halfway to the career grand slam at such a young age. I hope she pulls it off one day.
