But holy crap that was a horrendously anticlimactic ending to an incredible 5th set with the challenge.

Wow, I wish we had had them spontaneous moment instead of the challenge, but damn, I can't believe how good I feel about this. Way to go Roger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please let this be the Rafa we have going forward now. I'm a Fed fan first, but now I want Rafa to win some more.

What a start to this season, and how great is this for the AO, the bastard slam. Two weeks of shitty sleep for me, REWARDED!!!!!

Nadal will likely win the French if he plays like this there

Lol maybe if it was the US Open. Fed is gonna tear up Wimbledon.

I thought about that earlier in the 5th set.

I like the challenge system, but it can definitely make the ending to a match much more anticlimactic.

So glad I woke up for that. Hopefully Rafa can get another major somewhere before retiring (and stay ahead of Djokovic in the process).

Damn this is why I love sports, and why I love tennis. Compelling stuff. These dudes are multi-millionaires, and look what this little game does. Damn this is just amazing to see this kind of emotion.

Another classic between these 2. Hate that it ended on the challenge, but damn what a match!!!

When did this turn into the Dear Leader Open

WOW, after not playing a single tourney in six months, Fed takes out the Birdmsn, Nishikori, and a red hot Nadal 5 sets to capture this elusive 18. As a huge Fed fan, never saw this coming. And I had the utmost confidence Fed was going to get broken at the end 0-30 and then mentally crumble the rest of the 5th like he has done time and time again against Nadal. But tonight was his night!

What a crazy year for the underdogs - all of which I thought had no chance of winning....Cubs, Clemson, Trump, and now Federer over Nadal.

Nadal needs to shave his head and wear an Agassi wig.

Great match and tourney. The next 2 slams will be really interesting.

If Rafa stays healthy (admittedly a big if), he might not lose a set at RG.

the French won't be interesting if Nadal is in great form.
Wimbledon and the US are going to be great if they both keep playing at this level, Murray and djokovic get up. And then you have guys like Wawrinka and the wave of young guys.

I think you're forgetting how good Djokovic and Murray have been over the last couple years.

Weird seeing Rafa with horribly thinning hair and Roger with that receding hair line that has almost given him an island up top.

Male pattern baldness on display tonight.
