People always point to prime Fed or god-mode Stan, but those are the exceptions. Players try to emulate that and never come close.

2-handers are far better for returns and defense, not to mention more consistent in general. 1-handers do allow for better reach and more power but the majority of players can't control the ball well enough.

Plus, Roger had a ton of trouble with the high ball until his last few matches with Rafa. Even the great one handers had mediocre returns (Stan, Roger).

Nice to see Anisimova and her tig ole bitties advance.

Stan Wawrinka has the most dominant backhand I have ever seen

So I guess you haven't seen Agassi or Djokovic.

Cool story.

You didn’t even name the best two handed backhand either

Interestingly Stan and Thiem are the opposite, hence why they suck on grass. The slow wind-up doesn't help either.

so did Pete. Everyone attacked their backhands because it was the weaker side. But even Pete's forehand would be pedestrian today. I think he averaged around 85mph. This Dutch dude just hit 105. Racket technology has changed the game as much as anything.

It’s so fun watching grass tennis look the same as clay tennis

Bobby Ray/Midnight Vibe will argue tooth and nail on you for this.

I hate grass tennis now, all surfaces are the same. It is boring as there is not style differences.
I wished Lendl would have gotten a chance to play on these courts he would have got him the tournament he wanted so badly.

And this guy is just slaughtering these fools

This guy isn’t a very impressive opponent - not really anything he has that can hurt top players. Like an isner these tall guys can’t take out the top guys on grass as they can’t move well enough.

dude is only 6'3. Jovovich is 6'2 isner is 6'10 so it's a pretty bad comparison. Kyrgios is 6'4 and movement isn't his problem

If you think grass courts and clay courts play the same, I don't know what to tell you.

I'll let you throw Safin in the convo, but if you don't think Agassi and Djokovic are right up there, then you're just being silly.
