There are probably a school or two in every state that have been hamstrung or held back by legislators favoring a certain school , and there are plenty of reasons that people around the country might laugh at Louisiana but this isn't one of them

Nah, most outside of Baton Rouge and Monroe don't really give a frick what UL calls themselves. Don't understand why you guys care so much.

People in the rest if the world have no fricking clue who UL or Louisiana is in reference to a college in Louisiana. Mainly because there is not a college that bears those names.

There's no University of Texas, University of North Carolina, University of Tennessee, etc. Each of these universities have city designations behind them. This is no different. But of course, I will get the typical "they're flagships" response as if there is some magical rule that exists with the naming of each school.

Cajunese..what is SO funny is that NOBODY can tell me HOW LSU became the flagship university for the state! was it with a pen from the legislature(i would think so) OR was it earned through doctoral programs, excellence in education, etc.? The answer can't be found anywhere!
