Once you become the team that let Ole Miss get to Omaha there's no coming back.

Last year was pretty fricking good for ULL

A trip to the tourney in basketball
Nearly making it to the World Series
Bowl win in football

I have no idea what the girl sports did, but I know they are pretty good at softball. I'm likely leaving some other shite out.

Context is important. Think about what ULL accomplished in the Sun Belt, and then compare that to what LSU accomplished in the SEC.

ETA: I grew up in Lafayette, but earned two degrees from LSU. I still pull for ULL to be successful.

Still very impressive for the Cajuns. Not many Sun Belt teams get national seeds in both baseball and softball simultaneously. For LSU, it's pretty much expected with the caliber of athletes that they bring in every year in all sports.

It is very impressive what ULL did last year and I was pulling for them in the regionals and hats off the ULL athletics for having success.

With that said, one year doesn't equal having a better program than LSU.

I'd give Tulane the nod over LSU 2001-2005 due to the fact that during that time LSU had declined while Tulane was consistently one of the top teams in the nation.

Agreed. Teams like LSU reload year in and year out. I wouldn't even consider having Tulane above LSU in those years (2001-2005). Both teams had 2 trips to Omaha in that timeframe.

2001-2005

Tulane:

5 Tournament Appearances
3 Super Regionals
2 College World Series Appearances

LSU:

5 Tournament Appearances
4 Super Regionals
2 College World Series Appearances

which UL are you speaking about. there are two of them. Ask the legislature who is Louisiana . There is no UL. There is a ULL and a ULM though

Oh how I miss these threads. An innocent thread inquiring about the UL baseball team and the usual suspects turn it into a cry/bitch fest because it states the obvious fact that UL had a better baseball team than LSU last year. And look, right on cue here comes hill durham to cry about The University of Louisiana's name.

I don't know, I don't really follow ACC baseball. But I know an ACC umpire who goes to my gym, I can ask him for you?

Last year UL would have been very competitive in the SEC. This year, no

Louisville did lose some talent last year but they should be pretty decent. They have never really been a player for Louisiana talent though.

UL was 50-17 last year. 19-5 in the American Conference. Louisville was 0-2 at the 2014 College World Series. They should be able to host at least a regional this year and maybe a super regional.

UL should be soild again for 2015.

Louisville fans need to stop incorrectly referring to their university as UofL. Maybe chicken can inform them that they are UL.
