I think he was on gh during his first run in wwe. I don't think he used while in UFC or his current wwe run. He's just a lot smaller and not as lean as he was during his younger days. He was able to take Cain down, but reem annihilated him. He would be a gatekeeper in the UFC at this point.

Carwin was really good for a short period of time. He beat the hell out of Brock but got gassed. Terrible cardio.

Carwin won EVERY SINGLE FIGHT in the first round before Brock, the dude was amazing. If Brock never got the diverticulitis and had started MMA earlier there is no doubt in my mind he would have been the GOAT.

You are out of your damn mind. Brock isn't even top 20 of greatest heavyweights ever in MMA.

fricking Richard Arona when he was juiced up was better than Brock has ever been his entire life in MMA and he isn't even top 20 of all time.

Should the UFC do something about the time of weigh ins when Jones brags that he'll be 22lbs over weight when the fight takes place?

I like Dan Henderson's approach. He fights at his walking around weight for the most part.

It's not going to change. Cutting weight is such a part of all sports that involve weight classes. It's all about getting an edge. Personally I'd like to see them step on the scale right before they fight. Many other promotions and sports have same day weigh ins. A lot of what UFC has done is find the sweet spot and maximize potential on all aspects to create the best fights and best product possible.

The PED issue is a hypocritical argument. Their pay structure is a hypocritical argument. Their roster maintenance is a hypocritical argument. Their business practices are a hypocritical argument. It's really hard to find the middle ground that creates the ultimate product, you learn as you go and MMA as we know it now is still learning as it goes and it often takes time to evaluate, identify, and correct certain issues.

I still think MMA needs to implode scoring and rebuild the way the sport is scored.

Viacom is going to offer Brock a lot of money; but I think he still goes to UFC.. if Mir beats Bigfoot, Brock vs Mir as the co-main of the big July card

Is Richard the fictional brother of Ricardo, who wasn't even a HW?

Yes. And FYI, Arona fought several heavyweights over his career. Fedor, Mark Kerr, Overeem (though he may have been LHW at the time), Sobral, Monson, and so forth.

That is why I said juiced up Arona. Juiced up Arona would work Brock IMO. Arona is the only person to ever win a round against Fedor on points besides Bigfoot over Fedors entire career. Arona was also undefeated in submission grappling his entire career.

Fox Sports 1 is really going all out this week with their UFC programming. My roommates are gonna get pissed cause our dvr is clogged-up through Saturday. Not sure why they keep showing so many replays of 174, that PPV sucked.

pro picks

Johny Hendricks: Cormier by way of wrestling and power
Josh Barnett: Cormier by superior takedown game and quick hands
Anthony Pettis: Jones by championship experience
Khabib Nurmagomedov: Cormier by wrestling and spirit
Felice Herrig: Cormier by manhandle
Jamie Varner: Cormier by athleticism
Josh Thomson: Cormier by fighting smart

hard to believe so many picking cormier over jones.

I think Cormier wins as well. I think this fight goes the distance, just like Jon's last 2 fights have gone.

If you exclude the Chael Sonnen abomination, Jon's title defenses the last 3 years have gone: 4, 2, 5, 4, 5, 5 rounds. That's a lot of fight time in just over 3 years.

Ohhhhh, embedded vlogs are my favorites!

My dvr has probably 5+ hours of ufc material recorded from the last couple days.....I have a lot of catching up to do. Finally watched the bad blood episode with DC & JJ. Watched a little of the Cowboy/Myles Jury build-up as well (very underrated fight due to the ME obviously).

Congrats to the hogs on last night's arse whipping

LSU fans, it's all good too

Edit: just watched embedded episode 1. Jon really brought Mufassa on the commercial plane on a fricking leash?!?

The Cerrone/Jury fight could be a hell of a fight. Jury seems like a chode, and he's been popped for steroid usage in his teens (no surprise, it's really prevalent in HS sports).

Build your size and strength before you'll be tested then work like a mofo to keep it.
