the more i hear that melon headed doofus talk the more i dislike him. He used to be my favorite fighter, until i had to hear run his mouth non-stop.

BJ, you aren't some magical Hawaiian warrior, you're a fortunate boozer who is lucky that professional MMA exists
BJ is one of the most naturally gifted fighters out there, in spite of his previous pitfalls. You don't have to like him or can disagree with his work ethic, but the dude's a good fighter (one of the best). As far as him being lukcy that MMA exists, I'm sure you can say that about most professional athletes and their respective sports.

but i can see BJ being an absolute derelict more so than some of the other guys if he didn't have the pro MMA thing going.

Any reason? I can see how you might think he's not a highly motivated guy and might not have the drive to excel at much else, but why a complete derilict? It's got to say something that I'm sure he doesn't "have" to do this considering his family's situation but he does it anyway. The fact that it may come easy to him and he doesn't have to work as hard at it may bug you (and I understand that), but to me, he just doesn't come off as a complete loser like he does to you, IMHO.

Because most people from wealthy, successful families end up dead on the streets apparently if they are tan.

I would think that having an elite fighter like Randy Couture fighting some 405 pound fat slob that fell on top of him and got a win would not be very good for the sport.
+1 I think the UFC does not want anything to do with a super heavyweight because of the freak shows usually involved
However, I think Lesnar could hold both belts if this were possible.

Well according to Goldie, BJ could be a WR in the NFL if he wanted too.
BTW, where are you getting that he is a boozer from? Has he ever had a DWI, an arrest for being drunk in public or to rehab?

"You can take the Hawaiian out of the trailer park, but you can't take the trailer park out of the Hawaiian". Apparently anyway.

Clearly, its much harder for someone in his fortunate position to excel at such a sport.
There's a reason fighters of most any sort are from the most impoverished backgrounds. Well, at least in the past when there were far fewer avenues.
It takes insane training and work-ethic to maintain an elite level while defeating those trying to put food on their table.
For this, BJ Penn deserves credit. Even if hes fat and lazy by MMA standards.

I give the guy credit for putting his body on the line when he could just sit around, do nothing, and live on his dads money.

No, BJ and JD bought the cracker factory after it shut down and converted it into a mma gym.

a bunch of different shite. not sure how they initially made they're money. I think they're big into real estate and have a cable company now. His dad is white and mom is asian, he's not a true hawaiian. I dont know if that will cause some recalculations to El Tigre's Its a WOnderful Life remake of BJ's life without MMA.

I thought Ole Miss was a cracker factory

I wonder how that works with Greg Jackson's fighters training with GSP. Do they get paid?
