Yeah, I saw it on the broadcast last night and was waiting for them to allude to it but they never did. I thought it was a make a wish type kid or something. That kid looks like he has some guns.

Bro, I always wonder why you don't see more uppercuts. I would do that a lot more when the distance is really close. If you ever watch that show the contender, you see it a lot more when guys are in close. Obviously, the one last night was a big huge exaggerated one, I'm just talking about something that doesn't even have all that behind it.

yeah, bj penn throws a shitload of uppercuts. seems like it can slip in even if you have your hands up. I saw an interview of BJ the other day where the guy interviewing him said he talked to Freddie Roach and Roach was saying most mma guys had shitty boxing but that BJ had really good boxing.

i saw that, then later that day he was on a spanish MMA website saying as far as he knew that was BS and he was still under contract. i haven't seen anything more either way since then.

I throw alot of uppercuts...my favorite and best punch.
But, as Rashad showed Chuck, throwing uppercuts in MMA vs those 4 oz gloves can be dangerous.
And no I dont know when Im fighting again.

Also, the best way to tell if a fighter has been cut by the UFC is to check the websites fighters list.
Werdum is no longer listed on the site. Reports came in about Gleison Tibau being cut last year, I checked the website, he wasnt listed.
Gleison then said on a radio show he was in fact released, then a couple months later the UFC announced Gleison was fighting someone on an undercard, and he was right back up on the site.
So I think its a good indication he was released. not end of the world for him though. He will be back.

On a different note, LSU fans have another fighter to cheer for. My former muay thai coach, training partner, LSU graduate, and K-1 veteran Patrick Barry signed with the UFC heavyweight division and is making his debut vs Cheick Kongo!
