Ok. Let’s give him one maybe.
Wasn’t dominating the fight at all.

First off, RIP Rumble..
Second, I can't believe some of yall thought that was an early stoppage. Izzy was one shot away from a devastating, traumatic "lights off" type of KO..and that shot was absolutely about to land.

Posting for the 1st time in this thread and it's a bit too much to read through, but did anyone comment on the massive amound of blood that poured out of Chandlers mouth straight on to Poirier's mouth while Chandler was on top of him. One of the grossest things I've ever seen in a UFC fight
My sister is friends with Chandler and his wife so this was pretty much the only time I've rooted against Poirier but my god that was a hell of a fight. Not sure why Chandler went for such a big takedown there at the end. He had him off his feet but picked him up so far he lost his balance and it cost him. You're pretty much guaranteed a good fight with either one of those dudes though.

I know he needed the takedown, but he could have taken him down just like he did the round before instead of lifting him up so high. That allowed DP to basically turn him sideways and by the time they hit the ground DP was in a better position than Chandler.

Yes he landed a few nice shots but his nose was already compromised before he took poirier down, the blood was pouring out during the takedown the first time. Yes, he did have poirier hurt for a second but he didnt capitalize on it at all. Dustin clearly won the striking every judge scored the round for dustin despite being taken down and hurt for a few seconds. Dustins striking was way more crisp and accurate and you could see that in the results when you compare their faces. As far as the wrestling in round 3 im sure chandler was having issues breathing and the gas tank was running out. You could see that his movement was sloppy.
I like chandler but i think he is a 5-10 ranked guy in the division not a top 5 like dustin. He is a very tough guy and a hell of a athlete. I think he can give alot of guys trouble but wont beat the top tier guys which is what has played out so far in the UFC.

Chandler weakness is that he gassed and had low fight IQ. Look at his take downs. He tries to do highlight reels instead of sticking to fundamentals. It’s a bad strategy bc it allows opponents to scramble and force Chandler in bad positions.
I would love to see him vs Fiziev.

So I am rewatching "older" fights and fell on a couple of COVID fights. And man oh man the lack of crowd is very noticeable.
Obviously we enjoyed the fights when they happened, but man could you imagine a Ngannou vs Stipe 2 in a fricking stacked arena?

Yeah i think he could really be alot better if he would crisp up his striking. Too late in the game now but imagine what he could have been if he had concentrated on his boxing as much as poirier with his level of athleticism, wrestling base, and power.

Most (well..the three people I talked to) said Izzy was winning 3-1. Thoughts?

I don’t have a big issue with the judges all giving rounds 1, 3 and 4 to Adesanya. All 4 of the rounds were nip and tuck though. I don’t think anyone dominated a round if I remember right.
