Im back!

love this card.

gaethje vs oliviera. this one is so hard to pick because we have seen oliviera be hurt but always seems to find a way to win. mma math says he should win with the fact that he finished chandler and poirier and gaethje didnt finish chandler and lost to poirier. I think oliviera is more talented but gaethje got power and is a dog. some of the shots that oliviera took might get him knocked out against gaethje. on the flip side gaethje looked like complete shite against khabib so can he handle fighting for the belt. hard to choose but my mind says oliviera but the savage in me likes gaethje.

thug rose vs esparsa. I think esparsa has alot of what it takes to beat rose, great wrestling and alot of toughness. I think rose wins but should be a close fight.

el cucuy vs chandler. really like both guys and hate that one is gonna lose. tony says he is going back to his wrestling roots. I just think that losing that last khabib fight and never getting that chance against khabib broke the guy mentally. he seemed to age 10 years overnight and has been easily handled outside of round 1 vs gaethje. real tough matchup against chandler. another mind says chandler but heart says tony.

OT: do y’all ever think it will make more financial sense for the UFC to ditch the PPV way of doing things? I know they’ve recently moved over to ESPN+ but do you ever think it will make them more money long term to go full blown cable TV with maybe the occasional PPV option? Just curious

I dont think so. I just wish that thy would have some kind of streaming package from the ufc that included all of the events and ppv. Id love to send my money straight to them instead of espn.

Even at this stage, I'm very intrigued at Lauzon's fast start matched up with Cerrone's notoriously slow start style.

Love this card, Do Bronx vs Gaethje could be fight of the decade... the entire main card is action fights on paper

Was Justin already training with Trevor when he took on Khabib?

Regardless, I have a feeling Gaethje will be ready for this fight and Do Bronx has been rocked in back-to-back fights so the chin may be softened up for a big shot.

Yes. And he was just coming off the Tony Ferguson mauling... But it didn't matter.

I dont know what it was but gaethje just didnt look right that fight. he looked like he gassed after the first round. not sure if it was just that fight or something we will see inthis fight also putting too much pressure on himself.

UFC EMBEDDED 2

Gaethje seems reeeeeal laid back about this fight, out there chillin with his buddies playing golf. Can’t decide if that’s a good thing or bad thing. And how can you not love THUG? Also, didn’t realize Esparza is a former champion. This is going to be a tough fight for Rose

I'm sure he was extremely extremely amped up, kind of like he was in the Ferguson fight when Whitmann told him to stop throwing 100% haymakers and he already looked gassed early in the fight, but Khabib just constantly walked him down and Gaethje was on his his heels, basically running from him the whole first round.

Justin was able to really tear up Khabib's knee with kicks, but the Russian just walked through them, with a strategy basically to take some damage, if it means getting to a takedown. Once he had him on the ground, it was over.

That fight was also in the Apex, which has a smaller ring... And that benefitted Khabib massively.

This fight will be a lot different because nobody can trap you like Khabib, but Oliveira is probably going to try to use grappling a lot and take Gatheje's strikes out of the equation.

If it's just a straight up throwing match, there's really nobody in the division who can bang with Gethje. Chandler is close, but he couldn't pull out the win.

Do Bronx is just so lethal with submissions., but he's not a bad striker at all. He is rightfully the favorite here, but that's not to say Justin won't or can't win.

They were on TUF 20 together and fought for the championship.

I watched this season and it was cool to read what happened again. TUF 18 was Rousey vs Tate as coaches and had the current champion - Julianna Peña.

Dana told Pat McAfee today that he basically has zero interest in doing a Ngannou-Fury exhibition fight, and that Francis would basically get his arse handed to him.

He also said there is basically zero buzz for anything related to Francis, and that he only did the Connor-Floyd fight because everywhere he went everyone was asking him about it.

Also said he hates gimmick fights, and that fighting with 4 Oz gloves makes it even worse for Francis. Obviously he's probably trying to downplay the event to get some leverage over Ngannou in contract talks, but he makes it sound like he'll never do another cross promotion fight again unless it's a gigantic moneymaker.

More power to him. I fricking hate the gimmick fights too, and Fury would absolutely kill him assuming they do just boxing

There’s no correct answer. Everybody’s different. I know sometimes I feel sort of ‘disconnected’ I guess you can say until a few hours before the fight. Sometimes I get locked in 7-10 days out. Can’t really explain it

I know guys that look like they just left church until the cage locks or they step under the ropes.. like I said everyone’s different

If they would have a fight wearing those bikinis they'd do huge ppv numbers.

Poirier > Gaethje & we saw how Oliveira handled poirier. I'd expect this fight to be similar, but I read something about Oliveira wanting to knock Gaethje out. I think that's just trying to sell the fight bc that's not a solid gameplan for one of the best submission artists in the UFC.

Charles is gonna shock a lot of people with his striking and recovery this fight… my prediction is that he’ll choke out JG in the second or third

Pulling for Gaethje but Charlie Olive is gonna find a way to get it done.

Thug Rose defends her belt.

Chandler might actually kill Ferguson.

Hopefully Cerrone can get a W, any fight could be the last one of his legendary career.

You hit it dead on. I'm a big fan of Gaethje but Oliveira is an absolute dawg. I have a hard time seeing him lose anytime soon.

Rose is probably my favorite to watch on the female side.

This card is going to be awesome to watch
