I think there’s a lot of hype around Francis, but I also think Stipe for whatever reason doesn’t get the respect he deserves in terms of being the greatest heavy weight champion. So there’s a crossroads being met here where by Francis gets relatively inexplicable hype and Stipe gets relatively inexplicable doubt.
I think it is a combination of things. Nobody has really had the run he has at heavyweight so everyone expects him to lose. He isnt flashy and doesnt really talk much. He has faced some killers.

Hopefully Stipe wins, I'd rather see him fight Jones than Ngannou
If Stipe wins then we get Stipe versus Jones and Ngannou versus Lewis. Those would be great match ups.

Ngannou v Lewis was not a great match up. On paper it is though.

haven't heard it. How so?
Rogan said that Izzy was outstriking Jan and picking him apart when stats show that Jan significantly outstruck Izzy. Clearly said “no damage done there” when Izzy got hit by Jan. In addition, what made it worse is that you had these random tweets popping up between rounds saying Izzy clearly winning. I wish Bas Rutten was calling ufc fights.
Someone mentioned Rogan hyping Rousey as GOAT but he forgotten and ignored her after her loss.

Things change. I expect Ngannou to better than the last time he fought Stipe. I think that Lewis has improved as well.

Someone made what I believe to be a great comparison with Fury and Wilder. Like Fury, Stipe is the better all around fighter by far. Like Wilder, Francis is a physical freak with insane power. Can Francis starch Stipe? Of course, but it wont be easy. Sure, Stipe got KOd by Cormier, but that was in the clinch where Cormier really excelled. Francis has to catch Stipe at range, I don't know if he'll be able to.
Lewis is too patient of a fighter for Francis.
Rogan overhyped Ronda for sure, but he's talked about it and admitted to his mistake with her since. Dude fought to make MMA relevant during the whole "human cockfighting" era, he at least deserves a little less hate for that.

I think both guys hated each other so much they didnt want to be on the others highlight reel. ngannou had just loss also and was probably being really careful knowing lewis can knock your head off in a second.
def one of the most disappointing fights in ufc history.

The question at heavyweight right now is does Lewis wait for the winner of Stipe vs Jones or does he fight someone like Gane in between?

seemed like he said he wanted another fight. I think gane is a dangerous fight for him. Gane moves well and has good cardio. I can see gane working him like volkov did.

He's not going to wait that long for his next fight. You're talking November at that point. He'll have to take a fight in the interim.

That's what he said but is that what the UFC will do? Really want to see him fight for the strap one more time.

Not a bad fight to make, but would that be throwing Gane out there too quick?

Both rogan and dc looked stupid as frick in that fight. Jan won 4 rounds in that fight.

tickets for ufc 261 went pretty. I dont think they released them all yet but the ones they did release are all pretty much gone with the exception of some singles or tickets that are like 1800 each
