I simply don't see why he gets shite and Maia doesn't.

Everyone knows what Maia is. He's a BJJ fighter with no striking. Woodley is supposed to be deadly on the feet. Yet he chose to just fend off takedowns and throw bombs every now and then.

I listened to the interview and Woodley actually changed my mind on how I thought about it.
He is right about how he has fought so frequently while other champs like Connor and bisping have sat around and done nothing.
He was also right about the art in martial arts. All people want now is wwe type excitement, flipping off everyone and trash talk. The core of UFC is now entertainment and not accomplishment.
I've never been a big Woodley fan but he has had two terrible match ups in his last few defenses. They need to throw him Lawler again so he can win some fans back

This fight did remind me of Anderson silva fighting Damian Maia

Pure striker? Terrible matchup.
Pure BJJ fighter? Terrible matchup.

It's been around forever and fighters realize that it can translate into big bucks. But you don't have to be a shite talker to be popular in the UFC. You just have to win AND put on exciting fights.

He has a karate style of getting in and back out quickly. He doesn't stand in front of you long. To connect you have to have perfect timing. He is the only fighter of his kind in the division. He's not a kick boxer like cerrone is.
Woodley fought lawler and flat lined him inside of one rd.

Looks like it's time for Rashad to retire.

I love watching Moreno fight. I hope he can pull this one off.
Posted on 8/5/17 at 11:52 pm to diat150
Sergio is starting to tee off on him.
Posted on 8/5/17 at 11:58 pm to diat150
Moreno kinda has that poor man's Domanick Cruz movement thing going on.
Posted on 8/6/17 at 12:02 am to ScrapPack
Don't know what the judges are going to say, but Sergio won that fight.
Posted on 8/6/17 at 8:47 am to ScrapPack
Moreno needs to get better with striking. He has a lot of wasted movement and made him susceptible to the jabs which Sergio ate him up with.
Gonna be I interesting to see mighty mouse and Sergio go at it.

If he beats Cejudo convincingly (or at all), I have no problem with him getting a title shot.

He has the tools to be an excellent fighter and he is only 23 and still learning. I had forgot that he was on that TUF champions season. The pinyata story reminded me.
