SEC stadiums outsell NFL stadiums with fanbases that have tighter connections and are far more loyal. Nothing touches college football in scope and reach. NFL has a little better distribution and makes a bit more money for their product but no NFL team is regularly putting 100,000 people in seats on gameday.
when they start putting on UFC events on at 4 pm when there are over a dozen games on that will be relevant. UFC events start at 10 though and the 2 or 3 games on are insignificant

Buyrate might be close to 193; but it's not touching 100.. now UFC 200 is going to do scary numbers.

Only way it breaks 1.6 million buys is if both Rousey and Mystic Mac are on the card.

the UFC cards typically begin around 5-6pm CST. They did a couple the past few months that started around 1pm CST and there was one in Virginia started at 11am. CST.

College football starts at 11am and ends about 1am for me. I love, love, love, love the 16 hours of games on a Saturday.

John Kavanaugh said he wanted Conor to take a break from 145.. outcome of Saturday night will have a lot to do with who McGregor fights next

How would that work in practice...would he vacate the belt he just won? That doesn't seem very equitable for Franky Edgar to have to sit and wait for a year or more to fight for the belt because the champ wants to take a break from the division.

McGregor is adamant about not vacating the title with a move up. He wants to defend both belts as the fights come if he were to win both.

145 and 155 are divisions where guys could go back and forth.

If Cowboy wins the belt, McGregor will want that title fight, if RDA retains the belt McGregor will push for Frankie in Ireland.

RDA and Frankie aren't great match ups for McGregor but RDA is the lesser draw of the three. Aldo is lagging far behind in a rematch. That's a hard sell coming off pretty much a full year of promotion for a fight that lasted 13 seconds and the former champ got slept and cried and cried like a little baby and is still talking shite.

Aldo will be even less competitive the next time.

There's some growing discontent between McGregor and the UFC. There's not been a fighter have the UFC by the balls like this before. Other stars have gotten right in line, McGregor is saying what he wants and getting what he wants.

UFC will have to do Croke Park, it needs to happen next, That's a logistical nightmare to do a huge outdoor card in a very rainy fairly cold island. That type of event isn't what the UFC does, how does the weather play into fighter safety? I would love to see UFC fights in a cold downpour, I wouldn't want to sit in the stadium, but I think it'd be a crazy atmosphere.

Frankie and McGregor is the logical choice, Frankie won't have to sell the fight more than building him up to be the anti-Conor. Edgar is the nightmare match up for McGregor, he's the one guy Conor hasn't talked shite about in the 145lb division. Of course Edgar's resume speaks for itself.

The money fight is a 155lb champ Cerrone vs. 145lb champ McGregor. UFC won't allow that fight to be anywhere but Vegas if the cards play out that way.

UFC 200 is messing the timelines up for a lot of good fights that could happen this spring.

If New York passes; I could totally see Edgar or Cerrone vs Conor and Jones vs Cormier at MSG in April..

Pretty sure the main card for UFC PPVs typically start at 10. Point is UFC and College football aren't competing.

Yeah, that's got to be why they loaded most of their international cards to happen during football season and did 3 shows back to back to back right after the regular season ended and there wasn't thursday and friday night games to compete against.

And also why they scheduled the McGregor/Siver fight right after the AFC championship game and did a huge rating w/ a big lead in and tons of advertising to football fans.

How do you guys think a fight between McGregor and Cowboy would go? I like both guys but I think Cowboy wins that on the feet or on the ground. Dos Anjos would put it on him worse than he did pettis imo

I mean that's true but it's also meaningless.

TV numbers mean far more than actual butts in the seats. NFL is much more watched than college.

what are you talking about.

1. People who hare paying for Fight Pass are watching that card no matter what.

2. If you think some Friday Rutgers game is effecting UFC ratings you're a moron

3. NFL would actually compete with UFC(and virtually everything else) College football does not.

4. Pretty sure Mcgregor vs Siver started at 10 ET like most UFC events. Football has nothing to do with it.

Doesn't matter. Cerrone doesn't have a shot in hell of beating RDA

You're right and you're wrong

The 9 pm start time really only effects the 7 pm and later games. So unless it's a really big game or a team you support then there is no conflict.

College football is bigger than the UFC in America and it's not even close but like I said, most of the time they don't go up against each other

That and there isn't much overlap in fans so it is virtually irrelavent
