why doesnt anyone try and throw knees at gsp when he shoots for the takedowns? your going down regardless majority of the time, so you might as well try and catch his face with your knee and hope for a tko.

I just wish there was some repercussions for stalling.
Define "stalling."

I would define stalling as not attempting to engage or advance position.
Examples
Constantly clinching
Getting the takedown and being content sitting in guard and not attempting to pass or inflect damage.
Circling/running from a fighter and pawing out a jab

I would like to see a breakdown of the total number of minutes spent standing and total minutes spent on the ground in that fight. It had to be close to half the time
Diaz had plenty of chances on his feet to do something but he didn't. GSP beat him on the ground and beat him on his feet

I thought there were already regulations in place for the referee to intercede regarding your first two examples.
As far as the third example... well... I guess the other fighter would bear some responsibility for allowing that to happen.
The worst thing I can imagine is for the UFC to remove elements that have served to make the sport unique--watering itself down until its a shell of itself like competitive judo.

yea but joe even said multiple times that gsp was looking at the clock when he would grab diaz after an exchange nick got the better part of
I'm not saying you Homey, but those that constantly blame GSP for the game's best takedown and wrestling, sound like folks that would cry over Nick Saban winning four of the last eight BCS titles when he was in college coaching..
'Wah-wah-wah, Nick, your Defenses with stonewalling DLs suffocate too much, allow no teams to get off LOS, can't get the opposing Os rolling, your dominant running games behind manhandling OLs are boring, you don't play an honest game, your BCSCGs are lame, you don't allow opponents to have a puncher's chance!'
I guess Mariano Rivera and the mid-1990s/early 00s Yankees the same, with their DBacks WS loss and few other Mariano collapses, serving as Rivera's Matt Serra & Matt Hughes title-time W-L exceptions..
Damn that Patty Roy, stonewalling to endless titles with Montreal and Colorado..
Red Auerbach and John Wooden, you pricks, just grinding teams down, win after boring win.

Hendricks is every bit the wrestler, but he has those lead hands to win the stand up.
Can't wait for gsp to have to fight a different fight.

Here's what happened the last time GSP fought a Striker with outstanding wrestling.

Exactly. GSP will beat Hendricks 50 - 45.

Diaz & Dwight Howard have the same public speaking coach

Well, he has KO power, his right hand.
Similar to Hendrick's left.
I'm assuming that's what he really meant imo.

Be honest, who would rock this shirt??

quote:His knockout power was all they talked about, similar to Hendricks. He knocked out Matt Hughes. I'd consider him a wrestler first and a striker second.
