JDS is a beast! Carwin never had a chance in that fight.

Carwin fights 30 pounds lighter than normal and he's still slow as molasses. He didn't have a chance against Cigano.

why? so carwin could pass out in round 5? I had jds in all 3 rounds 10-8 in round 1.

i love jds, what a class act
no one can beat him in a standup fight and he stuffed carwin's takedowns tonight. cain is a better wrestler than carwin though, it will be another exciting fight

Cain vs. JDS will probably be the greatest HW title match-up to date. I really hope neither gets injured during training and this fight happens soon.

Carwin is just too old and slow to stand in the ring with guys like Dos Santos.

Age wasn't a factor. If Carwin was 18, Dos Santos would still have faster hands... Too bad we didn't get to see Dos Santos do this to Lesnar.

Carwin is a white Bob Sapp......

COMPLETELY different fight. lesnars reach negates that jab. corwin stays so balled up that a jab reduces him to lunging and taking chances. lesnar fights more open and upright so jds wouldnt be throwing jabs as much because he would nearly be in lesnars pocket. it would have been leg kick city with about 30 shots getting stuffed.
lesnar also does that weird shuffle shuffle almost jab thing until the opponent does something stupid. it at least makes you respect his reach. corwin did NOTHING to make jds feel uncomfortable.
im not arguing the outcome would be different, but i think that carwin fights a much different fight than lesnar.

I won an easy $20 on the JDS fight tonight. I think JDS will take the title from Cain. Lesner would have a shot against him though. Lesnar wouldn't have to respect the KO power AS MUCH as he did with Carwin. He could at least stand up with JDS and not turtle up when the guy comes anywhere near him. And as I have said before, Lesnar is one of the worst guys in MMA to end up with laying on top of you. That alone makes the guy really dangerous no matter who kicks his arse.

Not really. JDS is really good and flat out outclassed him tonight. I thought it would happen just like it did, but still said the fight was 50/50 because I didn't/don't think JDS could take a heavy shot of off Carwin and survive. I knew Carwin had no chance if it got out of the first round though.

It will be the two most skilled HWs to ever fight in the UFC IMO. The fight game has evolved and these guys are flat out good. Both of them would have beat the shite out of Timmay when he had the title.

UFC NEEDS to go to 5 round fights!
Aren't they making all the main events and co main events 5 rounds whether they are for the title or not?
Posted on 6/12/11 at 1:14 am to Palm Beach Tiger
I have heard that. I saw a video where Dana said they were strongly considering it but I don't know if they have said for certain.

Carwin might of died in the cage if that fight had been five rounds. lol

Carwin's UFC weigh in weights from earliest to latest:
252
264
259.5
265
265
254
So he basically was only cutting weight for the Mir and Lesnar fights when he was trying to get huge to rival Brock. I think his size loss is exaggerated.
