Edgar and Maynard have both withdrawn due to injuries, Rampage and Matt Hamill are now in the main event.

LINK

That really sucks for all of the other guys waiting for a shot at the lightweight belt.

Not anymore, I was really looking forward to that fight. I guess they can't really just take it off PPV and give it to Spike at the last minute.

They should at least move the Alves vs Story fight to the PPV card.

haha, what's your connection with hamill?

I like Matt and think he has a decent shot at beating rampage. He's not as skilled/experienced, but he's a helluva lot tougher/motivated.

It sucks but my friends and I weren't really pumped about that fight anyways. Edgar fights aren't to exciting to us.

Former WEC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis said that Monday’s news about injuries suffered by Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard didn’t surprise him all that much.

That’s because the UFC contacted Pettis “three or four days ago” with a special request: did he want to take a bout with Gray Maynard in the main event of UFC 130?

Pettis wanted the fight. “They were going to have me fight Maynard on that card. I said yes to that deal right away. I guess it turns out that it’s not going to happen. I’m back to fighting Guida,” Pettis told HeavyMMA.com. “It sucks that he got injured, because it kinda puts the whole lightweight division back on standstill.

”Instead of facing Maynard, Pettis will instead resume training camp for his bout with Clay Guida at the Ultimate Fighter Finale.“

For three or four days I thought I was going to fight on May 28 and now it’s just killing me, so I’m going to take it out on Clay Guida.”

Rampage/Hamill = Jones/Hamill - the save by the ref.

damn, Pettis just keeps getting fricked over. Looks like Gray backed-out of the fight with Pettis, probably wanted to get another shot at Edgar for the belt while he still can.

He is next in line for a title shot if he beats Guida.

Yep. He had the freaking WEC belt. He had so much momentum after that amazing Ben Henderson KO and the UFC wasted it.
