I'm still in denial over Shogun. He looked so much like shite against Griffin, especially against Mark Coleman and didn't look all that great against Chuck until he caught him.

he gassed in the first round in the griffin and coleman fights due to the knee surgeries messing up his training. I don't care how skilled you are, once you gas, all technique goes out the window. Now that he's completely rehabbed, you see the fighter from pride that was considered the p4p best in the world.

Couldn't agree more. Personal opinion, will probably take over the best P4P ranking from Silva. Before he left Pride, I thought Ninja was the best in the world.

surely you don't mean you thought his brother was the best.

boxing is nowhere near dead and is still more enjoyable when done the right way.

I didn't say or imply any of this. I'm just pointing out that there is way more interest in MMA on this board than boxing but yet they get a sticky for 3 days.

For 6'1 205 he still looks fricking flabby as shite. I'm not sure his conditioning is still there yet.

Saying that Belcher looked in the best shape yet and it showed last night.

Cote got pwned and now is whining about it.

Boxing's BY FAR biggest draw had a thread STICKIED for three days and it went 14 pages. No sticky here and this is 26 pages deep. I rest my case with all do respect to boxing.

Come on Smack, you seriously can't be comparing a message board response for your argument. Boxing is bigger, let it go. I watched ufc last night and it was alright. There is a place for both sports. There doesn't need to be a comparison after every ppv. Boxing's biggest matches will always out sell mma. It's just the way it is. The reason there are more responses on this board is age of fanbases. The majority of boxing fans are older and the mma guys are mostly younger. Which is good for mma.

I was a little upset about paying to watch kimbo and maitrione lay on each other with zero conditioning. I get upset and find it hard to take a sport seriously when the fighters don't.

Outside of that, I enjoyed the Rua fight.

it's amazing how you look differently when you're hurt (esp being on 1 knee) and when you're healthy

machida's resume isn't really that great

his best fight was rashad evans trying to out-box machida like a fricking rah-tard

Pretty good card last night.

Belcher continues to impress. He needs to slow down with calling out Silva and everything but I would like to see him start fighting the elite of 185 to see what he can do. He is definitely one of the more exciting fighters in the UFC as of late and will definitely bring the fight to whomever is in front of him.

Cote also needs to stop bitching like a French Canadian homo. If you don't want to get dropped on your head, don't duck your head into a guy's crotch while you're standing. And like my buddy said, "If you get owned by getting dropped on your head like that, you deserve to lose."

Are we done with the Kimbo experiment yet? Let him go to Japan and have freakshow fights now.

Stephens and Stout brought the fight to each other as expected. This was a pretty fun fight to watch.

I am very happy Dana cut Daley. There's no place for that shite. Let him go hang out with the Diaz brothers elsewhere and they can get into as many post-fight brawls as they want to. What a bitch. Someone at my house noticed that he was trying to eye gouge Kos as well.

I will say this about Kos though - in the 3rd round especially he would get the mount or Daley's back and do absolutely nothing with it. He would have been slapped very quickly with a yellow card in Pride for that shite. There was one point where he had Daley's back and just kind of postured up and looked at Daley until he started to roll over. Finish the fricking fight next time or at least try to and your opponent might have a little more respect for you.

SHOGUN IS BACK!!! This is great for the LHW division to have him back at 100%. I am going to be an even bigger Rampage fan later this month because I want this to happen.

Who else to yall think is in line for Shogun behind Page/Evans and a rubber match with Machida?

Also, count me in on the people not fully buying the Shogun is our new lord and savior again just yet. Styles make fights and his style obviously matches up perfectly for Machida. Other than that he beat two old zombies so far in the UFC. Machida going for the takedowns was stupid, he could get the TDs easily but after the first one it should've been obvious to him he was over his head on the ground so quit wasting energy. If he wanted to land them with 10 seconds left in the round to steal rounds thats the only time he should've done it.

Can't wait to see Rampage vs Shogun II.

i think rua's plan to just come out and attack attack attack machida threw lyoto off in a major way

i don't know how many other LHW can do this. maybe rampage

evans should have gone back to his true strength (wrestling), but tried to out-box machida. that shite was hi-larious

i got the impression that the first one was a "ok he's on the ground let me lay on him"

you could tell once he got there he didn't really plan on doing anything. at first rua didn't try anything either and i thought they'd be stood up quickly, but i guess he realized how shitty machida was and he ended up reversing him into the clinch against the cage

the 2nd he was dazed and was stalling to recover

his attempts at elbows the 2nd time was fricking clown shoes

Old Greg Jackson got him back on this path in his last fight and it was just as boring as I remember. He's going to try to dry hump Rampage into submission. No way he stands and trades if he doesn't have to.

Yeah i wanted Kos to win because he's obviously the best matchup to try and have GSP quit humping everyone but he didn't really do anything to make me think he's gotten better to win a rematch. His BJJ doesn't seem to have improved much and even his takedowns were just him flying from across the cage a mile away or getting stuffed and still being able to get off his knees and takedown the brit, shite he won't be able to do against GSP. Hopefully he can stop some GSP takedowns and at least make it a striking match for a while.
