and another LINK

quote:

Reports surfaced on Sunday that Griffin had suffered a jaw injury and that was the reason for his hasty exit, but MMAWeekly.com was able to confirm with representatives from Zinkin Entertainment, Griffin's management group, that he is physically fine following the Saturday night fight.

Griffin suffered no broken jaw and he is physically okay, said the Zinkin representative, but emotionally he is definitely not dealing well with the loss.

O because you found other pages that disagree from mine it's nonsense,
the majority of ufc fighters don't have good jaws like boxers do,
and I'm not saying that I'm right but I'm not ruling out the possibility that it was dislocated.

Dude, it wasn't. Shut the hell up. A UK paper is more reliable than sources here in the US for a fight that occurred in Philly?

You're wrong and that's the reason you can only find one link.

just kind of fast-forward watched Sengoku 9 from about a week or so ago. HOLY CRAP did anyone else see Gono get KTFO?!?! That might have been the most brutal KO I have ever seen.

The two best moments in all of MMA this weekend were Gono's ring entrance and then his "Timmmmberrrrrr" KO.

Great weekend for MMA.

I couldn’t afford to make mistakes at that point.”

Please don't tell me the judges actually had him winning that fight.

if they did I bet Adalaide Byrd was one of them. And it just shows how shitty UFC fights can be scored for people who try to dry hump all night. Failed takedowns dont hurt people.

Kurt Pelligrino supposedly said on the post fight show on ESPN that Florian would've won had he survived rd 4 and Florian's pal Bonnar said BJ stole rd 1 in the last ten seconds and lost rds 2 and 3. The only one that was even debatable to me was rd 2 and he still didnt do shite in that round and ate some nice uppercuts.

Being failed to get taken down doesn't hurt people either. There wasn't much action to judge in the first 3 rounds. I wouldn't agree with it, but I can see Florian getting 2 rounds. He probably should have gotten at least 1 of the 3. He wasn't the one pressed up against the cage and that was most of the fight.

Shocked he seemed more gassed than Penn in the 4th.

I agree. And being that it was a title fight, if the last two rounds would have gone like the first three, there is NO way you could take the title from BJ and award it to Florian for that shite.

That whole PPV was boring as frick. And Forrest Griffin...WTF? I see above that they were saying his jaw was dislocated, but that that was bullshite. When it happened, it looked like it was rigged/thrown. I'm sure that has been discussed in this thread (I didn't read it) though.

he got dropped twice in the first and nearly finished. no way holding against a cage can outweigh that.

in the 2nd and 3rd i cant see how holding someone against a cage outweighs getting cleanly punched in the face every time you break apart and every time you engage. It is a fight after all.

here is the fightmetric report

LINK

quote:

"Inside the Numbers: Penn dominated the entire fight outlanding Florian 87-51 in total strikes while fighting off 6 takedown attempts.
Both fighters were mostly tied-up while on the feet which led to 35 clinch strikes landed for Penn and 29 for Florian.
Penn was able to land an easy takedown which led to a rear-naked choke in the 4th round to remain the champ."

Exactly. I didn't have one round for Florian and nobody in my house did either. And there were some people there who do not like BJ. Florian did zero damage in that fight.
