No, it really isn't. They lose a ton next year. The NCAA froze their eligibility for those two years. An unprecedented move.

Uh... UAB has been in Conference USA almost 25 years and this is their first appearance in the championship game. LA Tech has been in the conference six seasons and has two appearances in the championship.
Yeah, we lost both but saying LA Tech doesn’t compete for conference championships is a silly argument.
