Agreed.

I will watch even with replacement players....people will tune in.

I watched the English language stream of the CPBL on the 11sports twitter feed this morning before work. It's good enough.

And good enough is all that it has to be right now when it's the only option available.

And considering China has already reshut its basketball league down, and Japan is starting to see a bounceback in some parts of the country, I wouldn't hold my breath on how long those league stay open

The CPBL is in Taiwan. I think the island is heavily restricting travel. They only have 4 teams to worry about (I think 60 players per roster), so a fraction of the overall numbers the US would have to deal with, but it's still showing that it's possible to move forward.

This would allow some players in the minors and opportunity to earn service time when certain Major league players refuse to report.
Not sure how salaries will be is a player doesn't want to come and is out on the exempt list.
Offer 4 games a day at something at 2-4 different stadiums. Start at 10am and play all day and rotate teams so that they have off days in between.
Test the players regularly along with staff, production crew (assuming you would only need a few of these) and all to make sure everyone is healthy. If a player shows symptoms quarantine them with medical treatment like they would be now.

It could work and we would get live sports back in some capacity, having the players mic'd up would fill in for the empty stadium.

Trout didn't sign up for the military.

Nobody signed up for this pandemic but we’re all making sacrifices where necessary. I don’t see why MLB players should get to be paid a salary for not doing what may be inconvenient to earn said salary.

This goes a little further than “inconvenient.”

Does it? Are the families going to be able to make due? Yes, yes they will. Would a guy like Trout return home and not play if some issues arise he needs to take care of? 100%. Will anyone stop him? No, they won’t. He just may miss several games if that happens. Not a huge deal.

There are parents with high exposure jobs that have had their parenting time suspended by a judge in different states. Is that fair? No. Are those kids and families ultimately going to be ok? Most likely yes. Does aforementioned parent continue working? Yes.

Further, multiple states have complete lockdowns for everyone so this isn’t exactly unprecedented to be quarantined.

Because they were rhetorical questions

Were they all rhetorical questions? Possibly. Is it a technique to advance an argument without saying much? Yes. Is it also a technique to make yourself look smarter? Also yes. Did you go a little heavy on the technique? Yes you did. Are we going to disagree on this topic? Possibly. Is there any use continuing this discussion? Probably not.

Trout may be an amazing player, but no one says that he's smart.

Every guy in the Minors would say, I'll take your place.

Shite, they'd go down a mineshaft to defuse a Nuclear bomb just to get to the majors.

Did you intend to use it that way? Maybe not, but probably. Is it commonly used that way? Yes. Is it called a rhetorical question? No. Is it called hypophora? Yes.

The option proposed is for the baseball players to live in a hotel and travel back and forth from the field with no family interaction.

You don’t consider that a little more than “inconvenient”?
